Beary Sweet
I'd do Henrik and Daniel for Crosby Malkin (Pittsburgh retains 3 million from each player) Personally it's a great proposal for us but I don't think the Pens would bite. Sedins are old farts but shine at times. Crosby and malkin are still superstars and produce consistently
Ghostsof1915
Trading away Despres for Lovejoy didn't help. That trade I can't figure out for the life of me.
Mike Vanderhoek
Well the team should be ok assuming they can integrate cheaper youth into the lineup. Lovejoy is underrated btw in regards to the trade for Despres.
Phil_314
Gotta think Letang would be on the market. That's a big chunk of their cap, and with Kris there they'd have around $13 million in cap space, but only 14 guys signed (Sid, Malkin, Hornqvist, Kunitz, Dupuis, Sutter, Spaling, Perron, Letang, Scuderi, Maatta, Pouliot, Lovejoy, Fleury) and guys like Martin, Beau Bennett and Ehrhoff, if re-signed, would eat into that big time. Trading Letang would give them so much more flexibility and they should have the offensive ability collectively from the back end to make up for the loss. Wonder if, after that move happens, we could do something like Higgins and Jensen for Pouliot? We could use an offensive D-man and they could use cheaper complementary forward talent. Higgins drives play and Jensen could do damage with that shot, plus they'd be pretty affordable.
theminister
That trade I can't figure out for the life of me. Rutherford. What else do you need to know?
VegasCanuck
They can't trade Crosby, he's the face of the franchise and will retire with Pittsburgh. Malkin they need to trade to get the depth that they need. They will flounder until they do.
Apples
GM needs to go. I expect another playoff failure next year for the pens
D-Money
Pascal Dupuis was a big loss, a real glue-guy on that team. Olli Maata was another one. Already one of their best D-men. Then their best D-man Letang too? And then Ehrhoff as well? Even the guys who were playing...Malkin had a sprained ankle, Hornqvist a broken rib... Penguins will be OK. Although they would probably be even better with a different GM.
hsedin33
I'd do Henrik and Daniel for Crosby Malkin (Pittsburgh retains 3 million from each player) So Pittsburgh is essentially paying 10 million for each Sedin... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
