pipperoni
You know what's buggin me the most about canuck nation right now is all you people that are posting new lineup's for next year, like this.... Sedin - Sedin - RW LW-C-RW LW-Horvat-RW LW-C-RW D-D D-D D-D G G You guys need to realize that Bo is a 2nd line center... in 3 years after the Sedin's retire, he'll be our #1 Center... thejazz97
Yep. But it really doesn't matter if WD rolls all 4 lines with similar minutes.
24K PureCool
How about a compromise here. He is the de facto second line center and the de jure third line center.

Mathew Barzal
Yep, but WD is stubborn. So I Horvat most likely won't get the nod til Bones is gone.

-AJ-
Bo deserves a tryout at the 2nd line. We'll see if he thrives there like he did on the 3rd, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does. He'll be waiting in the ranks for the 1st line when the twins retire or majorly regress.
Carl's Jn
ever think that horvat was affective because he was on the 4th line
Smashian Kassian
He's been playing better than Bonino for awhile now. There's no doubt he's the 2nd best C we have after Henrik, I just don't think Willie will use his as such unfortunately.
canucklehead44
Without Horvat our centres would have looked awful this year. Dallas has the perfect arrangement of centres, yet sill missed the playoffs: Seguin 1 , Sezza 2, Eakin 3, Fiddler/Horcoff 4. Each player is pretty much elite level for their given spot. Or look at Florida. According to ice time it would go Barkov 1, Bjustad 2, Bolland 3, Pirri 4. BUT Pirri scored 22 goals - you can't really peg him in has a fourth line centre as he played an offensive role. For this team to be a top team we need a better second line centre. Horvat is amazing in the 4 spot, and Bonino in the 3 spot. Centres really stabilize their line, and even in the 4C spot Horvat will be better than our third line wingers, and will kill a lot of penalties. Plus there is usually at least one injured for 1/3 of the season, so players need to move up the lineup. 5/6 of San Jose's top scoring forwards are listed at centre. The 1 who isn't, Marleau, has played a lot of centre in his career. Islanders have the highest scoring centre in the league, and three others listed between 35th and 56th in scoring (for centres). Bonino ranked 63. Enough with the comparisons. How do we fix it? We can't really acquire one. Signing Carl Soderberg is probably our best bet going that route (UFA) or giving Brad Richards a 1 year contract. While he didn't light the world on fire in Chicago, his role was a bit strange (14 minutes in ice time). As a clear cut top 6 centre in New York Richards scored 51 - disappointing for his salary, but decent production. OR we do what you said - throw Horvat into that role and maybe he scores 50 points. A lot of the top 60 centre in scoring were really young guys.
Outsiders
I said in another thread Sedin Horvat McCann Richardson Bye Bye Bonino ( he is too slow and isn't affective )
Senpai
I said in another thread Sedin Horvat McCann Richardson Bye Bye Bonino ( he is too slow and isn't affective ) Bonino is an excellent defensive guy and his cap hit is like 1.9 mil... You'd be stupid to get rid of him. 39 points for 1.9 mil? Worth.
Carl's Jn
I said in another thread Sedin Horvat McCann Richardson Bye Bye Bonino ( he is too slow and isn't affective ) benning likes bonino too much... thinks he is an energy player... and part of a major deal with kesler so no... he won't be parting with him... pipperoni
I just find his talent wasted on the 3rd or 4th lines.. he needs to develop as a 2nd line center ... put him there and let him go...

73 Percent
Exactly. Keep him until contract is up, if he doesn't improve at that point then try get rid of him. He will get replaced by Horvat though..i agree with most of what you said but the ting that bugs me with bones (and most of our tSam) is when the going gets rough he is no where to be found. The 39 pts are great for 1.9 mill. You have to remember though that 20 of those came in the first 25 games. And the rest he wasn't really a game breaker. Scoring a goal in a 5-1 game means nothing to me. Burrows is the complete opposite. His points are more valuable imo because he scores clutch goals that win you games and sometimes series.
