Skirbs11
Benning is great at evaluating the needs of a team and making the moves to fix it Areas I think need attention this offseason/at the draft 1. Establish who the #1 goalie is and work on moving one out of the Org. 2. Add toughness to the Bottom Six 3. Try and move some aging players and bring in youth and Picks 4. Acquire future Top Dman through Trade or Draft *Trades are IMO fair, Draft picks may need tweaking up/down a round or year* Trade 1- Ryan Miller to San Jose for 2015 2nd round 2015 3rd round pick Van addresses the goalie situation and gets back good draft compensation for a player we essentially acquired for nothing. San Jose is not in a full rebuild and needs a reliable goalie to help them get back to the playoffs Trade 2- Chris Higgins to NYI for Matt Martin We add toughness and a player who had 380 hits last year, no more getting pushed around by other teams. NYI are basically using 2 lineup spots on the same style player in Clutterbuck and Martin, they get veteran scoring depth forward to help a fairly young team Trade 3- Kevin Bieksa to Toronto for 2015 3rd and 4th round pick Bieksa will help a weak blueline and add some veteran leadership to a struggling young team. We get fair draft pick compensation while moving out cap space and an older player. Trade 4- 2015 1st round pick and Jordan Subban to Washington for Maddison Bowey Benning is not afraid to move future players for NHL ready prospects. Subban still hasnt signed with the Club as well I am afraid he will be pushed around and become a liability in the Western Conference. Washington gets a good offensive Dman prospect and First round pick to add to there prospect pool. Vancouver gets a Dman who has had back to back good offensive years in the WHL. His play will translate to be best suited for the Western Conference Lineup To Start Season Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Beartschi-Horvat-Vrbata Kassian-Bonino-Hansen Dorsett-Vey-Martin Kennins Edler-Tanev Hamhuis-Bowey Sbisa-Corrado Clendenning Lack/Markstrom Next Years Trade deadline Trade Vrbata and Hamhuis to contenders- Each player should get a 1st round draft pick in 2016 aswell as a prospect. Once they are gone Clendenning can step in for Hamhuis and Virtanen should be able to step in the Following year on Forward We regain picks for this years draft as well as would have 3 first round picks in 2016 either to keep or package 1-2 to move up in the draft or for a player In the mix of the trades we would Save roughly 12 million in cap space. and if the opportunity presents its self we could try and sign one or both of Franson and Green to slot in if Bowey and Corrado are not ready to be full time players
Qwags
You're one of the only CDCers who doesn't undervalue our players. EDIT: Nevermind.

thejazz97
1. Establish who the #1 goalie is and work on moving one out of the Org. Nope. Eddie said he wanted more of an even workload with Miller, and as far as the regular season goes, he's earned it. It'll also give Miller a chance to heal up so he can be stellar in the 2016 playoffs. 2. Add toughness to the Bottom Six Jake Virtanen, Brendan Gaunce. 3. Try and move some aging players and bring in youth and Picks Yes! Yes! Yes! 4. Acquire future Top Dman through Trade or Draft Draft. Top Dmen cost too much otherwise. Fox Mulder
I think your trades are mostly reasonable but won't happen. If be surprised if Benning traded Miller or Lack. I expect that they will split the season roughly 45-35 Miller-Lack. I'd rather keep Higgins or trade him for a draft pick(late second maybe early third). If one of our youngsters can step it up Higgins would be best suited on the third line. Bieksa isn't going anywhere. He won't waive his no trade and he earned that right. Let's move on people! Everyone keeps posting Bieksa proposals. He's not going anywhere!! If we could get Bowey for that I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Washington won't. It would take an overpayment to pry him out of there.
Crabcakes
Fox Mulder Agreed on Bieksa. He won't waive. Also, if they did move him, they would miss his grit which is something Benning wanted to add to the team (Sbisa, Dorsett). So, they would have to trade him for grit and not cap relief or picks. One of the reasons people have been calling for him to move is to make room for Corrado and Clendening. When Bieksa's contract is up in a year, Pedan could be ready to take his place in the grit dept.

That is why i suggested we acquire Matt Martin, hell of a lot more grit than Bieksa, the guy had 380 hits last year compared to Bieksa at
