2SKATES1STICK
If we had played Tampa the Canucks would have swept, the city wouldn't have been rioted in, Kesler would have been content to stay a Canuck, Horvat would be stuck as third line center with no chance of increasing ice time, his dad would have made enough fuss that Benning would be forced to trade him to Buffalo, and Horvats career would be spinning down the toilet. Why would you wish that on Horvat?! this
FlyLow_
If hammer doesn't get injured we have a cup.
Guest
Yes, and if we and Boston we both 100% when it came to injuries, we would have run over them too
cuporbust
All these threads about 2011 are pathetic. Lol. Agreed. Cuporbust. We busted. I try not to remember how I felt.
VANcanucks92
Wouldnt have gotten bullied around so yeah we prob would have won. Should have beat Bos though, that was our time and it got away
Me_
Lol same time . We prolly would've won for sure. Luongo would've never wanted out, and Gillis could POTENTIALLY still be GM of this team. Gillis went on record to say that the league paradigm had changed. Instead of adapting, his ego blamed the league he didn't adapt and subsequently threw the team under the bus by doing nothing, in the process, trading both Luongo and Schneider, pissing off numerous players including Kesler and the rest is history. Me_
The real question is would Vancouver still have a hockey team if it was followed by 10 years of darkeness? Vancouver couldn't support a losing franchise.
apollo
Nux won the Cup in 2011. It's a sad fixed league.
GMJB
We need the remember the Canucks had a lot of injuries at the time. I know Hamhuis didn't go out until after the Final started but I feel like If the Canucks were healthy they would have beaten both but the way they were health wise they would have lost to both. wallstreetamigo
Nux won the Cup in 2011. It's a sad fixed league. Seriously man you need to stop posting this. It actually is the most sad thing to read. We had lots of pp in the finals and couldn't score any goals. The better team - in terms of play in the finals top to bottom - won the cup. The Canucks have developed a culture of no killer instinct for the past several years. We almost lost a 3-0 series lead in the first round due to it. When up 3-2 in the finals they took it easy and it cost them a cup Blame injuries, blame the refs, blame whatever you want but that doesn't make it reality. The Bruins did not really win the cup as much as Vancouver lost it. And they still play that way now. This core never had what it took to bury Boston or Chicago or now Calgary. Sad but true. sharnhayre
Enough with the what ifs. They apply to every team in one way or another. This is the reality and we need to fix it. 28 teams this year are going to be saying what if and are not going to be happy with the way their season went. Orka
No point asking that question, there's a reason the bruins made the finals: they were better than Tampa. The Finals are a match up of the playoffs best team in each conference, not the best of the west vs the 2nd best of the east.
