Get Your first look inside the nearly complete Quebec City arena

There is no way Quebec City doesn't get an NHL team.

The only questions really are, when and will it be by moving an existing team or by expansion.

I really really hope the NHL returns to Quebec, but there may be larger moving parts to this than fan support. Currency differential and population will most likely play a large role in the prevailing TV marketplace.

seattle seems to be speeding up, espescially with this new Tukwilla arena proposal (which would honestly be the better option). It's looking like a near guarantee that Seattle will have a team by 2017-18 season

I really hope so. Seattle is the logical choice for expansion/relocation imho.

Bettman never looked interested when it comes to hockey teams in Canada, don't think that's going to help Quebec get approved. Cities like Seattle and Las Vegas are bound to get the nod long before any Canadian city does, there was an attempt to buy out Buffalo and relocate it to Hamilton some years ago which didn't turn out well.

Winnipeg is the exception though, Atlanta needed out and had nowhere to relocate in such a short amount of time and Winnipeg has been waiting to get back intot he NHL.

Rink looks great! However, I believe the safe route will be for Quebec City to get an AHL club there first then see if the NHL will come. My gut says Quebec City will get a team but only via expansion. Could potentially come in at the same time as Seattle or Las Vegas?

Because they want to expand in the west , I could see Seattle or Vegas first unfortunately. Quebec would be a slam dunk imo. They should move an east team back to the west and give Quebec their team back but it probably won't happen that way

Quebec City will be waiting a long time for an NHL team with Bettman in control.

Kansas City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Houston, Milwaukee, Hartford, all potential cities a team could be relocated.

Greater Toronto is probably getting a team before Quebec City does.

Building a NHL facility means squat these days, Kansas City's Sprint Centre still has no tenant and it was built specifically for hockey, as was Sask Place in Saskatoon.

If you build it they will come does not apply to NHL hockey apparently.

Hartford will never see a hockey team again, and I doubt Milwaukee will. I agree though, but Bettman as commish, Quebec's chances are slim at best. Winnipeg got lucky, because there was no other place ready for relocation. Bettman looked physically in pain when he had to announce the relocation haha. I think this restucturing in the conferences was made to block any eastern cities getting more hockey, thus Quebec will have to wait even longer. I'd be okay with Seattle though.

I am praying that there isn't an expansion. There are several teams that could and probably should be moved to a more profitable place. Las Vegas is a joke as well and makes the league look unprofessional.

Move the Panthers or the Coyotes to Quebec and be done with it, that arena deserves a NHL team.

Hopefully this means 2 new teams. Seattle and Quebec City.

I'd prefer Kansas City and Houston, therefore 2 more Western Conference teams. Unless we are talking about relocation, that's another ball game entirely...
