Presidential Planes!

Recommended Posts

so the Air Force One. a very modified B747-200B may be updated but still is a B747-200...

the CC-150 Polaris is also outdated, actually even more than the MD11. the MD11 have a glass cockpit...

in terms of "stock" (not modified) plane the B747-400ER, BBJ/BBJ2, ACJ and A330 and A340 are by far the most advanced ones.

BUT if you consider modifications so yes the IL-96 and the VC-25 are the most advanced ones...

ok. maybe Kim Il Sun from North Korea might consider their IL-62M the most advanced ones but North Korea lives on a diferent reality :P

but for me. none beat this one...

sorry folks. but the VASP MD11 was unique...

As a kid I loved those planes so much. First plane ride was in one to Hawaii

I know this is waaaaaaay off topic, but my favorite plane (I know its fake) will always be this, from Marvel's Agents of Shield. It's called "the bus": They've got a "command center" and whatnot :P

and then we see the diference between a luxury interior and a real tatic plane...

For anyone that's into aircraft, or has kids that are, I highly recommend the Museum of Flight in Seattle. It has the original Air Force One on display, loads of aircraft displays, space capsules, rockets, etc.

Or, equally cool, is the Future of Flight at Boeing field in Everett. There's a museum there and you can go on a tour of the Boeing plant and see how they build the aircraft.

I like Brunei's 340-200, one of my favorite plane, poor climb performance, but has the longest range of the bunch, and I imagine its pretty decked out inside. I'm with the OP though, would be cool if someone converted an MD-11, as they, along with the DC-10 are my two favorite airliners of all time. Not planes, but airliners anyways.
