oldnews
Apologies for jumping the gun in the draft thread drew - I was under the impression that missed picks like Carolina's, Colorado's or Arizona's could be made up at any time, not necesssarily between my picks at the end of the round. By my reckoning, Carolina is skipped - the clock began at 0700, and it's now 11:41. As such, on behalf of the Detroit Red Wings, the franchise selects Chris Stewart with pick #309. Carolina can make their pick up at any time. LA are up and have been PMed. Since no other team picked either players involved there is no conflict and I will change the pick to schultz. Oldnews jumped the gun but by doing so confirmed that neither of the players were in fact going to screw up others picks. Because we caught it this time it is okay but in a situation where this can't be assured we will BPA them and let the GM know to pm all Commissioners not just one. Also, Keep up the fast picking boys. Lets finish round 12 today. Also, if people kept a running count of what pick we are at, there'd be far less room for confusion. Dral
also - before someone tries to take 2 starters and blackmail me... whats the punishment going to be for GM's who roll with 2 starters come Sept?
Caboose
also - before someone tries to take 2 starters and blackmail me... whats the punishment going to be for GM's who roll with 2 starters come Sept? There is none in the rules, and I doubt there will be one now that the draft is underway. In other words, sucks to suck
Dral
There is none in the rules, and I doubt there will be one now that the draft is underway. In other words, sucks to suck I PM'd BH several days ago, who confirmed with Drew that teams weren't allowed to run with 2 starters... so either everyone abides by that rule, or if they take a 2nd starter the pick is considered void (similar to picking someone already taken) or I want the whole draft declared void and we start again
Buddhas Hand
There is none in the rules, and I doubt there will be one now that the draft is underway. In other words, sucks to suck I did talk about this Drew and he told me that GM's are only allowed to take One starter. He has not included this in the rules so ATM I suppose a gm can select another starter but i am against this and would like Drew to make a statement on this. At the end of the round the pick is BPA'ed and after three of these instances the GM is replaced with a more active GM. It's all good man it worked out for the better this time lol
oldnews
also - before someone tries to take 2 starters and blackmail me... whats the punishment going to be for GM's who roll with 2 starters come Sept? The simple solution would be to use a pick to take a starter. As for "punishment", there isn't a rule against taking/drafting two starters - but there should be a rule against attempting to have two active starters in one lineup. So if they want to trade one (or have one subject to waivers), I don't see a violation there, but if you failed to select a starter, I see that as a matter of your own strategy. Calling it blackmail is silly - other teams aren't required to leave you a starter available in the draft. The sensible thing is to place some level of priority on it for your hockey team. Goaltending is also a fluid position - so there will inevitably be a few starters that were not projected to be, a few that were that lost their jobs, another few that sustain injuries. Leaving it beyond round 11 before you take a single goaltender is questionable strategy though. Is there a punishment for people trying to hoard top 6 forwards while neglecting to select a blueline and goaltenders? I got 2 starters. Whatcha going to do about it. Trade one, waive one to send them to the minors, hope one loses their job so that you have a tandem or true starter/backup situation - whatever - but attempting to dress two starters is pretty much universally denied in fantasy hockey. Piggy Bank
I had two starters in CDCFL. I'll respond to this starting goalie argument in a few minutes just need to sort a few things out. Drew, because he took two and i was left picking one that i am unhappy with, how about a trade for his lesser valued goalie - dependant on who it is - for my current goalie. In a sense it is a trade in my favor, but only because I was left without the option of a better goalie due to him taking 2 early on. Let me knof what you think about that. Thanks, DP
Drewismyname
The rule is, you can only DRESS one goalie per night. The other will be benched. This has been in the rules since the beginning. You are free to sign ten goalies for all I care (put them in the AHL and anything over 1m is counted towards your cap though as stated in the rules), but you may only start one. We can't read the minds of NHL coaches or GMs on who the starter will or will not be as we as Nucks fans have noticed. Who am I to say whether a goalie in the players list is a starter or not? I can't. I'm not god.

I had Holtby and mason in the CDCFL and was told at short notice that even though holtby was an RFA he would not resign with me while Mason was on my team. I ended up having to trade holtby for a poor return because I figured I would get nothing for mason.

At first I thought you were just joking being disrespectful to the commissioners but I'm starting to wonder. We put in a lot of work making this happen for you guys and if you're serious with the disrespectful remarks you've been making towards us lately I'd hope you'd make an effort to stop because it's quite disrespectful. Thanks.

Thanks. I was joking. You guys are really up tight lately. Fun remember. This is supposed to be fun. I do take this league quite seriously as well. I've put alot of thought and time into my picks. I haven't missed a pick and I've been fairly quick when picking dispute being in a different time zone. I appreciate the work you guys are doing but I think it's time to stop playing that card every time someone rubs you the wrong way. I'm sorry if you don't get my humor sometimes but I think it's time for the commisioners to loosen up bit. I've been having a good laugh with most gm's here and would like the same relation with you 3. And remember. FUN.
