bobby loocid dreamer
I was reading THN's Rumor Roundup and it mentioned that Washington may be looking to shore up their Right Wing in their top 6. Seeing how close they were to the conference finals this year, I think they will be making a big push this coming season. I have been huge on Bowey in Kelowna for a few years and I know his hype has built since world jrs but I dont really know how much he is valued in the capitals system. Is this fair??? To VAN: Madison Bowey To WAS: Radim Vrbata

2SKATES1STICK
Personally i think it would be close, might need to add Maybe Vrbata+Kassian or Vrbata+Subban how is adding kassian close? how is kassian and subban equal?
Skirbs11
how is adding kassian close? how is kassian and subban equal? Depends what Washington wants, they are potentially loosing Joel Ward to UFA, maybe they want to add some grit to help out now. Maybe with trading Bowey away they want another Young D to replace him in there Prospect pool. There are a lot of different options Van can throw into a packages. IMO Vrbata is Worth a late FIrst round Pick 20-30 range, So if Wash is desperate to make the push now a deal could easily be made around him
Whale Tail
I could see Kass with a nice pass to Ovie and in the net.
ilovewinona
Seems unlikely that Washinton would move another promising prospect for an older player. Remember that time when they traded Forsberg for Erat? Yeah, good times.
thejazz97
Easy to see Kass in a Caps uni, the Spits have the same jerseys. Maybe not Bowey, but Connor Carrick + or a 1st might work.

lucky_nucker
Madison Bowey would be great, but I think Washington may be a little gun shy now when it comes to trading promising prospects.
ForsbergTheGreat
Caps say no. It’s not really that the value is off, it’s more of a the need not to trade future pieces for now isn’t really there. Cap already have Wilson, the guy is a bull. So they don’t really have a need for Kassian. I don’t see them letting go of Ward as he was their best most consistent forward Caps had in the playoffs. I see them shedding Green on D and use that cap to re-up Holtby and give Ward a slight raise. I could also see them trying to lose Laich as he is a walking injury and takes up a big chunk of cap. The thing about the caps is they can afford to not go all in. Ovi is only 29, and Backstrom in only 27. They still have a lot of years left being a strong team and this year in playoffs with Kuznetzov coming out, showing the star type player that he is and Wilson making an impact looking like a future Dustin Brown (with a slight more Torres in him). The future is bright. I don’t see them needing to trade a guy like Bowey as he is also a strong future piece. They already learnt from the Forsberg deal that it’s not always a smart to give up a young piece for a player that may or may not click. (imagine if they still had Forsberg) If the right wing is an important piece for them for solve I’d see them using player like Johansson as a trading piece, especially with Burakovsky improving so much throughout the year. Bruins are looking to shed cap maybe they go after Erikson, or perhaps give up something and go after Yakupov since they seem to like their Russians. Not that Bowey is off limits, but there is no dire need to trade him, so if a team wants him, they are going to have to greatly overpay to get him. Tre Mac
I see Kass feeding Virtanen after Provorov rushed up the ice and fed Kass. I see Kass feeding popcornov in his mouth from the press box.

Yeah, good times. Caps say no. It’s not really that the value is off, it’s more of a the need not to trade future pieces for now isn’t really there. Both of these. Most teams don't give up on their prospects that often. And in Washington's case, I don't think they'd be too fond of making the same mistake twice. Not only that, but giving up top defensive prospects is also not something most teams do. The Caps also may not re-sign Green, and Bowey will be needed in the near future. Like FTG just said, it's not so much that the value is that far off, it's more team needs. The Caps need defense right now, not more offense. Tre Mac
You see nothing i see. I see our most inconsistent 'project', who ontop of that now is going to be plagued with back problems for the rest of his career, a spot on our trading block and you see him playing with Virtanen and a undrafted prospect. Guess we'll see who is blind come next year.
