If he is with the leafs long enough for them to turn it around and consistently make the playoffs which they eventually will, Babcock will have one hell of a legacy before retiring. Plus one of the most respected coaches in the league will not be fired after a season or two, going to take a whole lot more for anything close to that happening. In an earlier WD thread, I was debating about how much of a difference a coach can realistically make with a mediocre lineup. If Babcock can get Kessel and Dion back to playing effective hockey, 8 mil per will seem like a bargain. Personally, I like the situation in Buffalo a lot more than the one in T.O.
