Hearing Caps forward Joel Ward most likely to hit free agent market July. #Canucks

Sources tell me that Vancouver would be on a list of teams that would interest Joel Ward when he hits market. #Canucks

#Canucks could use heavy body like Joel Ward who scores big goals, missed that in the playoffs.

Not a lot of detail there of course, so not sure whose choice it would be to go to free agency or why, but it's a piece we'd be interested in for the right price of course.

How would he fit here and for what price? What other locations might be a key suitor for him?

I could see Ward getting 3-4M in FA.

The last two seasons he has: 43G and 83P. He also had 3G and 9 points in 14 PO games.

I'd try to get him for 3.5-3.75.

funny that kassian projected to be around that in production this season but most CDC posters think he sucks.

Ward would be VERY attractive should Kassian not recover from his back issues, it would also make Kassian and Higgins completely expendable.

At $3.25 million AAV over 4 years I'd be happy to have a playoff performer like Ward here

We don't have space for all of our current bottom 9 players (NHL and prospects), why would we want/need another one? Especially one who's going on 35 and not exactly fleet of foot. (We need to get younger and faster, not older and slower).

Don't get me wrong, he's a good, clutch player but this smells like someone mentioned Vancouver for pure click bait.

With Vrbata, Hansen, Kassian and Dorsett signed, I don't really see where he fits. Of course, Dorsett can play LW, but he would probably take the spot of Virtanen IF he would make the team.

I really like Ward, just don't know if he fits with our "getting younger" plan.

I could be wrong any any one feel free to correct me but I'm pretty sure Dorsett played LW in the first game against Boston this season when he was on a line with Matthias and Kassian

Dorsett and Hansen both played LW and RW at various points this past season.

Yes, and there will be a lot more of this leading up to Free Agency. I completely agree with your assessment!

Don't think we would have the cap room nor would we be interested in paying him much...I like him though, plays a very heavy game and can play all situations...but at this point I rather save the cap space and fill in our roster with prospects and younger guys looking to prove themselves
