elvis15
News1130 Sports @News1130Sports 5m Hearing Caps forward Joel Ward most likely to hit free agent market July. #Canucks Sources tell me that Vancouver would be on a list of teams that would interest Joel Ward when he hits market. #Canucks #Canucks could use heavy body like Joel Ward who scores big goals, missed that in the playoffs. Not a lot of detail there of course, so not sure whose choice it would be to go to free agency or why, but it's a piece we'd be interested in for the right price of course. How would he fit here and for what price? What other locations might be a key suitor for him?
thejazz97
Edmonton could use a guy like him.
Qwags
Could be a 2nd/3rd line forward. He is a big guy, too. The problem is the price-what would he want?
Guest
Dump Higgins and get Ward. Please
TheRussianRocket.
Don't have the cap for him. Would be nice to get him but doubt it.
jstewboy
Would be pretty happy with Ward at 3.5ish x 2 years. Higgins would have to be dealt for a pick or prospect. I'm not really into bringing in more vets at this time, but how can you say no to the BLACK BEAUTY?
greetingsfrombrazil
With Vrbata, Hansen, Kassian and Dorsett signed, I don't really see where he fits. Of course, Dorsett can play LW, but he would probably take the spot of Virtanen IF he would make the team. I really like Ward, just don't know if he fits with our "getting younger" plan. Aladeen
Dump Higgins and get Ward. Please Yes please He instantly became one of my favourite players when he eliminated the Bruins in Game
c00kies
I could see Ward getting 3-4M in FA. The last two seasons he has: 43G and 83P. He also had 3G and 9 points in 14 PO games. I'd try to get him for 3.5-3.75.
c00kies
What a stupid thing to say Especially since we just signed Subban

Mike Vanderhoek
Well any team is likely an option at this point lol. He may be a heavy body and provide some scoring of the clutch variety at least in the past. But this player is too slow for the Canucks who need to upgrade their overall speed as well. Warhippy
Ward would be VERY attractive should Kassian not recover from his back issues, it would also make Kassian and Higgins completely expendable. At $3.25 million AAV over 4 years I'd be happy to have a playoff performer like Ward here
aGENT
We don't have space for all of our current bottom 9 players (NHL and prospects), why would we want/need another one? Especially one who's going on 35 and not exactly fleet of foot. (We need to get younger and faster, not older and slower). Don't get me wrong, he's a good, clutch player but this smells like someone mentioned Vancouver for pure click bait.

I completely agree with your assessment!
73 Percent
Trying to get younger. Signing a 34 year old doesnt help that.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Don't think we would have the cap room nor would we be interested in paying him much...I like him though, plays a very heavy game and can play all situations...but at this point I rather save the cap space and fill in our roster with prospects and younger guys looking to prove themselves
