J.I.A.H.N
Columbus Trades ...........A. Wennberg and 2015-1st (8 OA) For Vancouver's......................Edler and McCann (add Hansen if needed) Ottawa Trades..................C. Lazar ,2015-1st (18 OA) and 2016 -3rd rounder For Vancouver's.......................Bonino, Cassels and 2015-1st (23rd OA) Edmonton Trades..............Marincin and 2015-2nd (33 OA) For Vancouver Trades.............Bieska and Lack Now I know this is a lot of moving parts, but every trade is an upgrade young prospect and picks and gives us a lot of cap space to sign our RFA's and UFA Green or Fransen Will we be a better team in 2016 for it, probably not, but we won't be any worse, and the up grades to our prospects should show in 2017. IMO, going into the draft with the 8 OA, 18 OA, and the 33 OA gives us another tremendous jump in our prospect pool. Personally, I would go for 3 defensemen if the are available Provorov, Zboril, and one of Juulsen, Pilon or Carlo if they falls. This totally leave the 2106 draft to pick the BPA, and should have 2016 1st, Vrbata, and possibly Hamhuis and Hansen to trade, if the season dictates,

And yet you want to trade McCann? Yup surprise, Surprise, Janis keep putting McCann on the trade wish list but has no idea what like of player he is. OTTAWA IS NOT going to give up their gem in Lazar for Bonino. And you do know that Cassel was the reason Mcdavid was shut down in the OHL FINALS right. Again Janis has no idea what kind of player Cassel is. And if can't be bother to listen what the GM has to say about the plans he has in place then don't bother. He said he has no plans of trading his top prospects like McCann ,Horvat or Virtanen. They are off the table period. He meantion that at the last trade deadline. We are supposed to get younger and having Green who is 30 does not make us any younger. Tell me what you like about Fransen. Do you think he's worth 5 million? J.I.A.H.N
You guys can say your one word comments and never make a proposal as long as you like, but lets look at the truth of the matter. #1. We are a slow, small aging team #2. We are in decline #3. We need an elite center #4. We need an elite PMD #5. Both Calgary and Edmonton will soon pass us. #6. If you don't like my idea's, give me some alternatives Let's look at my proposals #1 Wennberg and 2015-1st (8-OA) for McCann and Edler Wennberg > McCann and Edler > 8 OA From everything I have read Wennberg is going to be a 1st line center, and Edler is already a guaranteed #1 or #2 dman........ there is nothing that guarantees the 8th is going to reach Edlers status, it is just that he will mature near the same time as most of our prospects. There is nothing that says McCann is going to be a #1 Center, more likely a #2....nothing wrong with that, but not exactly what we need. #2 Lazar and 2015 18 OA for Bonino, Cassels and 2015 - (23 OA) This is agreeably the hardest one to sell, but there isn't that much difference between 18th OA and 23rd, which makes this trade more about Cassels and Bonino for Lazar. My thought was that Ottawa has a team that is much like we were in 2011, a maturing group of players, that could use a player like Bonino who can play 2nd or 3rd line center now, and Cassels is one year older than Lazar and has really grown as a player. The risk is more Vancouver's than Ottawa's, as the wild card is Cassels. I would still do the trade, but it is not as lopsided as you suggest. #3 Marincin and 2015 - 33 OA for Bieska and Lack Funny how you never said much about this one, yet, it solves 2 large questions for Vancouver, while providing Edmonton a mature leader and an upgrade in goal. Lack is better than any of the UFA's this year IMO. Vancouver gets cap relief and Marincin is a young dman with potential. 33 OA gives us a chance to pick up a pretty good prospect. In general, Vancouver needs to do this, and I am not against upgrading our offer if it needs to be. Just to cut off anyone who is going to suggest Lazar is our Horvat, guess again! 2 years ago Lazar and Horvat were neck in neck, in term of quality, but Horvat has jumped way ahead of him, and Lazar is more in line with a McCann, who dropped in the draft and which I am sure many a general managers are wishing they had picked him. Other than the 8th Overall and Edler, this is about small upgrades, and position. we can also replace Edler with a UFA
