underrated Posted May 29, 2015 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Dan Hamhuis to Pittsburgh for Derrick Pouliot Kevin Bieksa, Linden Vey and a 2nd round pick to the Islanders for Griffin Reinhardt Pittsburgh, even with missing the playoffs, are a team who are going to push to be contenders with their core of veterans. With Ehrhoff and Martin UFA's, Hamhuis comes in as a solid veteran to help anchor their back end. Pouliot is a high price, but veteran defenseman like Hamhuis on a reasonable sized contract are also very hard to come by. The Islanders are also a team competing for the cup next year. They have lots of young defensemen, but need veteran experience. On top of this Vey and a 2nd round pick help cover the future potential that is lost in Reinhardt.
