[Report] Malkin Open To Trade

Recommended Posts

Weber and Crosby on the same team? Isn't that enough to wet the pants of some of you Canadian nationalists? I like that deal if I'm Nashville but the Pens are still handcuffed by a massive salary leaving them few options for fire power up front.

yep i'm sure the Canucks can totally afford his 9.5 million dollar caphit

They sure can. If Malkin is available, the Canucks should be interested in his services. Same with S. Weber. If he's available, GET HIM.

Incidentally, this type of salary acquisition would further propell a youth movement while staying competitive, under budget with a good wiggle room for trades.

It also justifies Dorsett's salary in mentoring the kids at the entry door as per his role of on-ice coach; apparently he's really good at it and that's why the salary is as high.

Somewhere in Vrbata, Bieksa, Sbisa, Hansen, Higgins, Bonino and Lack, perhaps other assets, there is a Malkin from Pittsburgh, a Weber from Nashville, perhaps even a 2nd and a 3rd from somewhere.

They'd retire before getting traded.

I don't think so.... If they would it would show you they don't/haven't ever given a &^@# about winning a cup, because playing with Crosby and Letang on a PowerPlay would be their best chance at success. Vancouver isn't the have all/be all. I remember 3 years ago when people said Kesler would never leave either...Lou won't go, Mitchell's heart is in Vancouver, etc lol

lol @ thinking trading those players will fetch us Malkin and Weber

I love CDC

Peca, Wilson and a first fetched Mogilny. So it's not entirely impossible, especially if Malkin wants out bad enough.

Again not saying it will happen but stars have been traded for less.

That's right.

When a player is "untouchable" the team sets price.

When a player "wants out", the market sets price.

1. I love it

2. The sedins will still be the #1 line. Henrik is better than Malkin.

3. How on earth did we land malkin and Weber though?

4. Gettiirrrduuunnnn

yeah but that was mainly because the Sabres were screwed financially due to Hasek and LaFontaine's contracts, they were pretty much forced to trade him.

Montreal makes sense to me,

something like,

Plekanec, winger ?, Fucale, and a d prospect +

Plekanec, Galchenyuk, Fucale, 1st for Malkin and Bennett

Pacioretty Malkin Gallagher

Parenteau Desharnais Bennett

Perron Crosby Hornqvist

Galchenyuk Plekanec Dupuis
