ice orca Posted June 17, 2015 Share Posted June 17, 2015 If Benning can't get any trades done for Lack or vets maybe he moves Markstrom for a low 2nd and trades down our 1st for a high 2nd and a decent prospect. At least benning will be trying very hard to make things happen for sure. We don't have the cap room nor we should pursue any big signing at this stage of the team rebuild. It's not a deadline, but it seems like Benning likes to make a lot of his trades at the draft, as we saw last year. Plaguez Posted June 30, 2015 Share Posted June 30, 2015 Not excited for either. Late pick, no 2nd or 3rd. No cap space for any UFA. Pretty much, this is the team, will maybe sign a lightning in a bottle hopeful 3rd/4th line tweener and hope our kids are actually ready to take a spot. Benning might get a 3rd for Lack but with the other 29 GM's aware that he MUST trade a goalie or lose one, I don't see them lining up to offer him much more. Going to be very quiet for the Canucks.
