But, the reality is that Edler is PAID like a #1 and is expected to PLAY like one. THAT'S why he's on the 'Nucks #1 pairing. As far as I'm concerned, both he & Tanev are "#1's" by default and have no business being described by anyone as "great". #1D make $7m and up. Edler makes $5m. So not paid like one. Edler / Tanev play first pairing due to a lack of better options, not because they're #1 or #2 D's. Edler is a great #2, Tanev is a good #3 or #4.
