Can you imagine how differently our franchise history would be had we not made some of these mistake. Drafted Within 7 spots from where we were then picking. Kiril Koltslov instead of Duncan Keith Nathan Smith instead of Niklas Kronwall Cody Hodgson instead of Erik Karlsson or even Tyler Myers. Cory Schneider instead of Mike Green Mason Raymond instead of Kristopher Letang Taylor Ellington instead of PK SUBBAN Anton Rodin instead of Tyson Barrie Jury is still out on Shea Theodore whom we passed on for Shinkaruk Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That means 30 TEAMS passed on him and 23 TEAMS passed on him TWICE. You're just singling out the canucks' bad picks. You can do that with every team. I mean Florida completely whiffed on their 9th overall that year. They passed on Keith for a guy who played 3 whole NHL games. They passed on him TWICE too. Give your head a shake. By all means of anybody can research any other teams that has messed up this many times in missing out on a #1 -2 Dmen then please list it. Remember must be within 7 picks. A few have some potential, sure. But the others in that list don't have a hope in hell. There's also some others in our wheelhouse that are missing from the list with some potential. I think Hanifin is the closest to a sure bet this draft. Next year you have Chychrun and maybe Day. Chicago picked Anton Babchuk in the 1st round and Duncan Keith in the 2nd round. It's all luck.Interesting they picked a defenseman in both rounds though. They picked up 5 round one or two defensemen between '02 and '04.
