The most interesting thing  occured to me as I just ran these numbers for our updated Standings...18 teams are over 1k points right now as you are reading this. Another 8 are within 20 % of that....every team in the league 'could' make the playoffs at this point, and that is after 1000 points earned by the median team. It is a tighter year than I recall happening before.

and now this.

Tough to see that Red Wings logo at the bottom of the standings. For a team that has been on the cusp of making the playoffs the past two seasons, this season has been beyond an utter disappointment. Our management team felt we had rounded out our roster well this offseason and built a team that would compete. But a string of bad luck and lack of performance from some players has sent us straight to the basement.

I will be working the phones tonight to see if some sort of shakeup can happen that might right this ship. Tough to be in this position and be optimistic for this season. Our chances are looking VERY slim.

REPORT: The Detroit Red Wings are listening to offers on numerous roster players, including star forwrards Jakub Voracek and Bobby Ryan, elite prospect Elias Lindholm, veteran forwards Chris Higgins, Trevor Lewis, and Drew Miller. Veteran defenseman Andrew Ference, and goaltenders Jonathan Bernier and Jhonas Enroth are also players that the organization is listening offers too. Reports suggest that these players are available, but don't expect them all to be moved quickly for the sake of being moved.

Huzzah, the Wilson/McCann trade is through on pickup :)

Now for the Franzen move to IR and Gormley call up, and I'll have a true picture of my points total.

Still looking to make a deal or two by the way - teams near the bottom, hit me up and we'll hammer out a trade or two!

Tonight we will address the two callups and post a roster update...as with all of us, the Rangers team sheet is in wild dissaray, we know it will be fixed soon, and our post this coming evening will hopefully help to bring it up to date. The two new players have all kinds of room to fit on the bench and under the cap...we are excited to get them on the ice in the GML!!

I am not sure if the team sheets are being updated retroactively, with regards to the cap hits of players sent down on specific days or what not, but in my case the updates to my team sheet are over a month behind, maybe everyones are for a bit longer...however, I know it will eventually get all sorted out. Here is the current lineup of both the main club and the affiliate.

keeping in mind Andrej Meszaros was released after signing overseas...and then a group of players were sent to the minors once cap space from Meszaros contract removal was available..and more recently, I called up two players. Oh and in the middle Eric Fehr came back off LTIR>

Without further ado, here is the lineup for both squads as of 9am this morning...

The New York Rangers:

Thomas Vanek, Henrik Sedin, Jarome Iginla

Jiri Hudler, Antoine Vermette, Milan Michalek

Nikolai Kulemin, Eric Fehr, Colton Sceviour

Michael Keranen, Matt Stajan, Craig Cunningham

Tye McGinn

Andrej Sekera, Jon Merrill

Alexei Emelin, Connor Murphy

Zbymek Michalek, Cody Goloubef

Mike Smith

Keith Kinkaid

The Connecticut Whale:

Marek Hrivik,  Dylan Strome, Max Reinhart

Jerry D'Amigo, Zach Stepan, Petr Straka

.............., Matej Stransky, Gabryel Boudreau

Patrick Sieloff, Brad Hunt

Mikko Vainonen, Andrew MacWilliam

Danny Biega

Joonas Korpisalo.

November 1st Hrivik, Strome, Reinhart and Biega were sent down, while Tye McGinn was called up.
