We wish Paul the best of luck. We had high hopes for him when he was acquired a few years back, but he had been surpassed on the depth chart with younger players simply because they were playing.

Ha. Yes, he did. But only two this year. Which was what led to the waive. Hopefully he gets back into the lineup for you. :)

The Oilers signed six free agents and traded for seven players (at the expense of 3) who filled ten vacated or empty roster spots this past off-season..

We made what we thought was a yeoman effort to fill our roster. We only had two prospects in our system, prior to summer (Jordan Weal & Christian Thomas), who have played NHL games this year. But recently we have had as many as 7 regulars on real NHL teams who have spent extended time on the IR. Its added up to stress our efforts.

So we are happy to give Paul another crack!

The good news is we have some exciting young players and great goaltending. We bought low on Jeff Skinner. (This is not a crack, we also sold low on Paul Stastny to get him. Who is also having a rejuvenated year). Were lucky to get Justin Faulk. Have Kerby Rychel in our pipeline, Axel Holmstrom and Pavel Zacha as draftee's plus several college and other young free agents stewing in our minors club. To have players in the future when this occurs. And in the meantime we have been stockpiling cap space for solutions and will also accumulate more young players to continue to turn Edmonton back on course.

I'm figuring the 'cheap' seats are good enough for the likes of us.

About $70? One aisle for you.

And, if it makes it easier for out of towners, my place is available for crashing.

I almost forgot the formality of asking for the time off from work...sent that email in just now and will get back to you tuesday i think

After the AllStar Game I will change formats back to the wildcard race style from last year...till then, hold onto your hats! Also: will be incorporating team sheet links into the logo buttons at that time.

Dallas Stars are firing on all cylinders in January....a rare occurance, but nice to see what is possible when it does happen.  With 265pts so far this month only the top 2 teams have more points as of right now....(gotta say it quick cuz it might not last!)

sadly darcy kuemper couldnt grab some points for the blues in his first game but we are confident ih him

mike weber with 14 more points which will be not added to pickup because its still not updated.

weber must be around 40-50 points  since his return ...hope there will be an update in the next weeks

CDCGML PRESS CONFERENCE

Good day fellow members of the CDCGML,

Today our league will commence operations with the aim at providing efficient, up to date, and transparent service in a timely manner. To provide you, our fellow members with an exciting and continually updated league in all aspects whether this be in our thread, capsheets, pickuphockey, and roster moves ( trades, waivers, callups, demotons, injuries, etc ).

At this time I would like to thank our commissioner canuck2xtreme for all of his efforts, his countless hours of his time running this league and the assistance he is providing behind the scenes in helping maintain our league to date. Real life has a way of getting in the way of this wonderful escape for all of us from time to time and for now canuck2xtreme will take a step back, it is with great appreciation I would like to thank our commissioner for again his time and allowing his fellow members to carry on until he is able to take on a bigger role again. Thank you.

That being said we have news to tell all of you, congratulations to theminister who has been appointed the title of interim commissioner of our league. Thank you theminister for affording us your time, there is no doubt you will do an amazing job moving forward.

There have been changes to our league's structure, I want to take a minute to outline these changes for our members.

Interim Commissioner: theminister

- please send all trades to theminister for processing and posting.

- please send all player movement clause inquiries to theminister for consideration.

Long-term Injured Reserve Department: Primal Optimist

- please send all LTIR requests to Primal Optimist for consideration.

Waivers Department: Primal Optimist

- please send all Waivers Claims to Primal Optimist

Player Agents: Mike Vanderhoek, greensman

- please send all contract offers, extension inquiries to Mike Vanderhoek and greensman.

CDCGML Executive Committee: theminister, Primal Optimist, Mike Vanderhoek, greensman, _arby_18, Squeak

- please send all questions, suggestions, and inquiries to one of our members to be addressed.

Please understand the updating process does date back to 12/05/15 so one can understand the workload we are under and to expect a delay before daily updates and the most current moves are reflected on team sheets and pickup.

Another note of importance for our members to know is there is a " cross-training " effort if you will involving our executives for the purpose of providing seamless service and to eliminate interruptions of service in future if one member is away at any given time. This means multiple executives will have access to team sheets, pickup hockey to aid in keeping things current. Big thanks to theminister, greensman and Primal Optimist for their time in this regard.

Thank you fellow CDCGML members for your time, please do not hesitate to ask any questions via PM.

CDCGML CBA REMINDER

RE: Article 4: Contracts

Just a reminder to our member clubs, if you submitted a negotiation to extend a current player on your team prior to the deadline of December 31, 2015 at 11:59 pm then you are eligible to continue negotiations for the purpose of a new contract ( not all negotiations end this way as in real life ). If you have submitted a negotiation after the above mentioned deadline, this will be disregarded until such time when our next window opens. Below is section 4.5: Extensions covered in our CBA.

4.5 – Extensions

Teams are permitted to discuss a contract extension with one player who's contract expires at the end of the upcoming season beginning on July 1st of each summer. This negotiation will not count towards the 6 negotiation limit in place later in the season, provided that the negotiation begins prior to January 1st of each season. As with any negotiation, sometimes the player will not desire to sign an extension that early. Clubs can only begin these discussions with ONE player, regardless if that player ends up re-signing or not.

Beginning on February 15, 2016, teams can hold preliminary discussions with 2 players of their choice (ballpark figures only, no full negotiations take place). Then, beginning on March 5, 2016, teams are permitted to enter formal negotiations with one player and hold preliminary discussions with an additional 2 players regarding their contract desires before the end of the season. After the regular season ends, teams may hold formal negotiations with up to 6 players, but remember only a handful may sign extensions. When negotiating an extension with a player that has played with your club for the entire season (beginning on opening night of season), teams may offer up to an 8 year contract term if desired.

sad but not surprising news in this league ..this came not unexpected for me

i hope curt is fine and i ll thank him for the past 4 years since i joined the league.

it was not allways easy and sometimes i was close to leave this league but this league ( and cdcfl)

are the only reasons why i m still on the canucks board.

only sad thing is that no one asked me for a interim job ...i allways had interests in the injury section

but well ......keep it on guys

i hope this league will go well with the interim commish and i hope we will have a season 2016/17

regards Bomba
