For those coming to the game on the 4th, the cost will be $75.00....nosebleeds. If you are able to email transfer me money I would appreciate it. If not we will have to settle up on the day of.

Also...anyone interested in getting together for a drink before and/or after the game?

Yes for either before/after, if not both.

Has anyone heard from boxing hobo or Buddha recently?

His last post here was in October and he doesn't appear to have logged on in over 2 months....

Buddha was around at New Years and offered this....

It appears that Primal and C2X will not be able to join us.

Any late minute changes to this group?

Slight change... tickets are $83 but i got a much better section. 320 rows 4&5.

/ Will try to get some value added stuff thrown in too. Also, if you want to buy gear I have a minimum 30% off at the team store.

Here are my thoughts:

We can meet at Central City Brew Pub at 871 Beatty pre-game. (time TBD but I'm thinking 5pm). Can decide where to go to afterwards if we want to but I have an in at The Pint on Abbott and Pender (it's the Canucks staff bar.... i.e. no line, no cover).

I do have room for overnighters if anyone needs a cheap place to crash.

Edit: if there are people who would like to still come not on the list, or would like to meet for drinks anyway, please let me know. We may even have a person drop out for all we know.

I am expecting to see a couple trades the morning after this midseason GM meeting. Negations over a couple beers at the Canucks game sounds like a good time.

Social lubrication and 'in vino veritas.' It's how it happens IRL too at the GM meetings.

I suspect, for my part, it will mostly be trash talk.

And I'm the 'commish' now so everyone needs to be nice to me.  That will be a change.

Going to be in the states for a few days  sigh

hopefully there's another draft party this year!

Oh, there will be... whether you get an invite or not....:P It will depend greatly on the playoffs this year.

Honestly, I'm not sure my bandwidth could handle anymore refreshing. It was almost killed last year.

However, if people are into it in enough quantity, we could get a special location to house a 'summit.' not sure where to suggest though.

But... on that note though....I was thinking of tentatively suggesting the date of the draft be the 18th or 19th of June, Saturday or Sunday, at 4pm. We need to add another round this year so an hour earlier would be better. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

I am massively crushed about this dog thing.   I had planned on my wife being home that week and not on the road, but her boss had other plans.....we have a special case dog, who exhibits Autistic behaviour like you would see in an Autistic human kid...she barks at trash, friends family, strangers rocks if they are big enough, any animal she thinks she can beat up or expects me to, all with such rigor that I think she thinks they are bears. My father in law stays with us six months a year, part time, and she barks at him for hours each morning once she remembers he is still in the house.  The only thing in five years she hasn't lost her $&!# at is in fact a real bear, three times....totally ignored it like it was the trash or a mailbox....and yet on the same walks as she ignored bears, she barked at mailboxes...sigh. The big worry is she nips at father in law, his girlfriend, my hot sister in law and our friends....like she is trying to herd them out the door....one bite on a stranger and we would lose her...my wife forbids she stay with strangers...while I want to kennel her while i go to the best game of the year...it is totally possible Joonas Korpisalo, my young star netminder, might be in net at the CBJ game for the BJS..a game i dont want to miss..plus there is all you guys there.

Okay that is my tale of woe. What am i doing about it? This saturday I am paying a kennel to take her for an hour in the morning and report back to us what she is like..and if it goes well, for 5 hours in the afternoon....hope to build her tolerance to the strangers and kennel so this never interfers again. If it goes really super well and someone drops out last minute....you never know!! It could be that I might make it happen, but that is a long shot.

does anything help in the form of supplements etc to calm her or is it more neurological then simply calming her ?

There are supplements you can provide, they are natural and from a Veterinarian office, no exam needed such as Zylkene ( capsule you can give with cheese, peanut butter, yogurt etc or you can simply break open and sprinkle on food. Has been quite effective in cats more so but have heard of success in dogs. Brings them right down. It can be used right before an " event " or longer term. Again it is natural, not loading your dog up with chemicals.

There is also Adaptil spray, wipes and collars to control behaviour. Many other products out there as well, Bio-Calm a liquid.

But if you have a Veterinarian office around and it is worth a shot maybe that will help, if not long term it could ease her into a new environment like a kennel.

we have not tried much beyond one of us always being home with her, as she is 'normal' with one or both of us in the home environment. I use quotes on that because where a normal dog does not maintain eye contact, as a natural thing, ours craves pure eye contact every waking moment..."IF YOU LOVE ME YOU WILL LOOK LOVINGLY INTO MY DEEP BROWN EYES" my wife satirizes.....
