I am massively crushed about this dog thing.   I had planned on my wife being home that week and not on the road, but her boss had other plans.....we have a special case dog, who exhibits Autistic behaviour like you would see in an Autistic human kid...she barks at trash, friends family, strangers rocks if they are big enough, any animal she thinks she can beat up or expects me to, all with such rigor that I think she thinks they are bears. My father in law stays with us six months a year, part time, and she barks at him for hours each morning once she remembers he is still in the house.  The only thing in five years she hasn't lost her $&!# at is in fact a real bear, three times....totally ignored it like it was the trash or a mailbox....and yet on the same walks as she ignored bears, she barked at mailboxes...sigh. The big worry is she nips at father in law, his girlfriend, my hot sister in law and our friends....like she is trying to herd them out the door....one bite on a stranger and we would lose her...my wife forbids she stay with strangers...while I want to kennel her while i go to the best game of the year...it is totally possible Joonas Korpisalo, my young star netminder, might be in net at the CBJ game for the BJS..a game i dont want to miss..plus there is all you guys there.

Okay that is my tale of woe. What am i doing about it? This saturday I am paying a kennel to take her for an hour in the morning and report back to us what she is like..and if it goes well, for 5 hours in the afternoon....hope to build her tolerance to the strangers and kennel so this never interfers again. If it goes really super well and someone drops out last minute....you never know!! It could be that I might make it happen, but that is a long shot.

There are actually 3 seats available in row 3 right in front of us so we could be a 'stack.'

Great for conversation. That's why I got 5 seats in row 5 and 3 other seats directly in front in row 4. Better for banter than a straight line. Gotta group together...trust me on this...I know wherefore I speak.

Also....I have an aisle seat with your name on it. Can't have more leg room than row 5 seat 101.

Went to the CJHL top prospects game with Jost and Fabbro out in Surrey tonight.

So many NHL scouts and brass. Thursday's game for the CHL will be even bigger

Sloppy game but picked up a couple of extra names I think we're ok.

Curious to know how you thought Dennis Cholowski, Colin Grannary and Kyle Betts looked in that game? Unless that is confidential scouting information :P

Cholowski looked pretty solid. Handles the puck well at times, good first pass, has vision. I thought he was nervous and had a hard time adjusting to Fabbro in a single game.

Grannary, with the puck, reminded me of Eberle. Straight dangler with hockey sense and he can fire a puck, it leaves his stick quickly. Unfortunately, he is an atrocious skater.

Betts looked solid if unspectacular. I spoke to others that liked his game more than I did.   Jost was clearly the best forward on that side and I don't think he had a great game

There were other d-men that looked better than expected IMHO. James Miller was a very pleasant surprise and Matt Cairns was especially effective.

Oh...and another thing...I'm going to introduce myself and everything but I'm going to call you by your 'real name.'

Romo is Romo, Cal is Cal, Squeak is Squeak, greens is greens. Y'all better call me THE minister, as is befitting, or just TM if you're into the whole brevity thing. I will also accept 'Your Highness' and 'Eminence.'

Fotunately, Mike V can just be Mike, and ThatMike can be THAT Mike, not that one.

Boy is pickup slow today. It's not taken this long to update scores since the start of the season!

Every year for some reason the Parsing gets slow about now...I wonder if it is because nhl.com limits webcrawlers around now, when it starts to get busy to preserve bandwidth? hrm.....

Yikes, look at the time: updates this evening, sorry I spent my morning paying bills..should have come here first...lol

Yeah, no. Won't be referring to you as any of those names.

Here are my thoughts:

We can meet at Central City Brew Pub at 871 Beatty pre-game. (time TBD but I'm thinking 5pm). Can decide where to go to afterwards if we want to but I have an in at The Pint on Abbott and Pender (it's the Canucks staff bar.... i.e. no line, no cover).

I do have room for overnighters if anyone needs a cheap place to crash.

Edit: if there are people who would like to still come not on the list, or would like to meet for drinks anyway, please let me know. We may even have a person drop out for all we know.

Im off to the beach today, kids first day at school after summer (Christmas) holidays.

Would have been great to catch up with you all!

Have a great time!
