You can come too if you're free on Thursday.

I am not but thank you. Week nights are a challenge between work and family. Technically so are weekends for that matter lol.

How often does this sort of thing occur?

A couple questions as well...

Is there any helpful sites where I can log on and build my roster, prospect depth etc and save it that's a bit more graphic based than the spreadsheet with pertinent info (stats, team etc) ?

How does depth work on here? If I say trade someone off my main roster and call someone up from my AHL, where do I find my echl, euro league etc players?

This is the first time for a game. My hope is that it will become annual at least.  Five of us got together for or league draft last year though.

Nope...we give you the cap sheet...any other resource is your call. Anyway, not that I use. In case you hadn't noticed, if you scroll over the player's name their contract details come up.

All signed prospects are the same, they are all in your minors. If they are unsigned you cannot call them up. If their contract is slide to the junior system they also cannot be recalled.

Also, scoring is done through pickup hockey.

Several Years ago we knew we had a winner and we were comfortable taking him in the third round after the show he put on in the world stage, and in Finland, what we didn't know was how fast he would prove himself once given the chance in the big league.

Joonas has already posted this year, in order: an OT loss, a WIN, a WIN, regulatin LOSS, SO loss and a Win and a WIN..all since January 1st. (Truth in advertising: He had one earlier five game callup in December that allowed him to acclimatize to the speed of the game, at a cost of 4 losses and 1 win.)

Right now, we are stoked to get a chance to view our future star live in Vancouver. Great Scouting starts at the GM's office.

Aaaaah been on mobile all day so no scroll over. That will probably help.

Thanks for the pickup hockey info as well. That seems to have some of the useful GUI stuff I was looking for.

I suppose the hardest part about this will be building a team to win the fantasy league rather than necessarily building what you believe would be the better hockey team. Sure there'll be overlap but it's not quite the same.

Mobile is only good for quick reference. It used to be better until Google docs changed their format and it doesn't include details anymore.

It's true that building a winner here is different. First thing to do is to ask around and get used to the point scoring system. Observation and data collection on how the league works is key.

Thanks T.M.

I hope to serve a once proud organization well.

P.S. take it easy on the newb (I read the last pages comments you vultures :P).

So how do I drive this thing?

Hey cool as > one of my favourite posters hired.  Welcome aboard!!!

Suggest a trade moratorium first few days. Except to me or PO. We could use the help! Or Bombastik > He's a good guy... :P

Thanks CS B)

Yeah, taking a few days to formulate a plan then:

Though, I wouldn't mind reaching out to my key pending UFA's agents to let them know new management is committed to them. I assume I need to be on desktop rather than mobile to get that info in the 'scroll over'...?

last night was very dissapointing for me as a hockey fan...the hardest shot is the only event I enjoy every year as it is an interesting metric. I wish every player would take part in it league wide....and then each TEAM's player winning that teams hardest shot go to the allstar hardest shot contest...yeah! none of this vote to ruin Rory's career, or John Scott's career garbage. Similarly, each teams fastest skater should be in the fastest skater competition. not sure about the rest...althogh i liked the saucer pass contest too. None of anything else was remotely entertaining.

LOL...thanks for including me, I do need some help. All I would say is the trick is to balance making the playoffs with having enough playoff bound guys that you think will go deep in the post season..the year I made the dance, I was eliminated pretty quick for lack of contenders players.

edit: i should also add that i was still intensely proud and satisfied that I managed to make the post season with all these SHarks here. Best league ever. bold underscore exclamation

not seeing any requests for me to book two doubles for the hotel, I am taking the single giant bed instead. Ramada 99 bucks a night, with a 50 dollar amex prepaid card tossed in as a special..includes breakfast, nice. Hotel is a go.

That's a pretty sweet deal.
