To Philadelphia: Travis Boyd, Alex Lintuiniemi, COL 2016 2nd Round Pick, VAN 2016 4th Round Pick To Detroit: Marcus Foligno So much for the haul at the deadline! The Detroit Red Wings are pleased to announce the re-acquisition of F Marcus Foligno. He was acquired earlier in my tenure as GM and ultimately traded in the deal which brought Jakub Voracek to Detroit. Alas, a deal was able to be agreed upon that brought him back into the fold in Detroit, and we couldn't more pleased to have him here. The Colorado 2nd round pick and Vancouver 4th round pick in this year's draft, as well as prospect Alex Lintuiniemi were all acquired at this year's deadline in exchange for pending UFAs. We were very pleased to have turned that around and acquire a player like Marcus, who brings an element to our top 9 that is seriously lacking at this point in time. Travis Boyd was an undrafted free agent brought in a couple of summers ago to help build depth in the organization, but with the emergence of Zach Hyman and Andreas Anthanasiou, we felt he would be too far back on the depth chart to be considered for a call-up in the near future. With the likes of Jakub Vrana and Kyle Connor pushing for roster spots as well, we felt that we were deep enough up front to move a couple of pieces out to bring a player we really like. Wish nothing but the best for Travis and Alex, and once again, welcome aboard Marcus!

My goalies are both pending UFAs, but their cap hits are still counting towards my active cap hit (at least that's what I'm assuming because their contract values are still in the goalie spot on the depth chart). Twas fun. Foligno had a surprising amount of pool points this season, which made the upcoming RFA difficult to part with, especially considering what his price tag will end up being and that the Sabres IRL are trending in the right direction. However, seeing as though I'm planning on rebuilding my team through the draft (unlike last year ), and that i have a specific vision for my team, changes ultimately have to be made to this franchise. I wish Marcus nothing but the best. Acquiring draft picks in the coming draft is paramount, which was why I was insistent that some be included. Boyd was the main and only prospect I really wanted back in return, as I was gunning for more picks. However, when Lintuiniemi was offered up, I couldn't say no, as the 2012 Kings 2nd round pick will likely see time in the next 2-3 years; which is likely when my team will be expected to perhaps slip into a playoff spot.
