theminister
Makes sense. That was a reason that I have yet to really go after a position after I finished that hockey course last year. After learning a bit more about it, I wondered if it was really the path I wanted. I would have had to take a massive pay cut and yet be gone from home more often, which I'm not willing to do. My family is too important to me. But also, I didn't want to take something I love and have real passion for and turn it into work, something I stress over or worry about. Hockey is an escape for me sometimes, I don't want it to turn into why I need an escape. I think about it in the reverse. I've worked in so many industries, in so many roles from warehouse to ownership, that I only want to do things that I am passionate about now. I don't have kids so the sacrifice is only mine. I could probably make 6 figures working for ten years at a growth company but I would hate myself for it. Might as well give myself over to the game I love since doors have been opened to me. The thing I realized is that I can commit to one thing and still endeavour to others. I can focus but not lose sight of the big picture. It's not a choice of one or the other. It's a commitment to being yourself IMHO.

We will be at the Foo Fighters concert on Sept 11th Usually although it's harder to free up time to pop by for concerts sometimes. They can be hectic depending. Tonight, for example, is Nikki Minaj and that will be a gong show. I'm not sure if I'm working the Foo Fighters yet but probably.

Wilb
where is the "bring bomba to vancouver" fund? I thought of you just the other day when I was in a panic trying to find something for Weber to sign. I ended up buying a bunch of packs of hockey cards, praying I would get a couple Weber's, and Fransons. I did. But I also got a Upper deck gold portraits rookie card of Draisaitl. #88/99---a pretty good card. I could only find 1 or 2 on Ebay selling for around $30. Canuck Surfer
Ah 1991... I was 7... and Bryan Adams performed in Revelstoke during that province-wide "Music '91" festival. Good times My fave all time concert was Bryan Adams in the peach bowl at Osoyoos. pretty sure it was 91? All day festival sunday; Steve Miller band the other key headliner. Saw him again first time since this April. Cant remember too much of the rest for other reasons... Man, we left Abbotsford about 1 am bent. My buddy Ray drives like a maniac. We were too skunked to find the campsite at about 4am so we just parked in some peach orchard. Turns out it was across the street from the entry to the concert. You would think we would have noticed? In any case... Everyone else had to walk about 3 k from the parking lot up the road when the world woke up at 11 am for the start of shows. Tons had coolers and mitts full of fun. And there was a big sign over the entrance that said no BYO. Not wanting to walk back everyone parked their coolers at our orchard camp site and must have been 500 partying & dousing their supplies so they would not go wasted. 3 days later we were still shacked up, unsafe to drive downing all the booze that went abandoned. The shat that went down I could not tell you! I really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree! Oh, and the concert was good!

Primal Optimist
I will likely take in two games this year..skipped last year and only one game the year before...but...I bought seasons tix to the Victoria Royals (think Joe Hickets) and loved it...wouldn't do a full season again though, too much pressure to go to too many games in a weeks time... this year i am going to buy best seats in house for key games and go to two canucks games as well. With free hotels at B.W. I can pull that mix off for same price as seasons tix at the Royals.
