General Information As per normal, the vote will be specific to the team drafting in that slot, you will have 10 players to choose from in the vote (starting with the top 10 players ranked in the ISS Top 30 draft eligible players) . Make your choice not only by skill, but by team needs as well. Every couple of days I will create a new thread with the results of the vote, and a new vote for the next team. I will also post information about the next 5 players in the ISS top 30. Below the team's logo, you can click to see their current prospects over at Hockey's Future to have more organizational insight. Enjoy and make sure to come back for each vote! (Remember that you're voting for what team will pick who in their position. Not just what team should draft what player.) Congratulations to Joel Eriksson Ek and Brock Boeser for being selected 24th and 25th overall respectively by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Jets! Current Canadiens ProspectsCurrent Ducks Prospects According to the ISS Rankings, these are the next top 5 draft eligible players. Brandon Carlo is an industrious, shift-by-shift defenceman who lets the game come to him rather than chasing the play; he is able to quickly adapt to the pace of the game on the fly. Through maneuvering his way around the ice and making high-percentage, skilled decisions in all three zones, he is able to shut opposition offense down before it begins to take shape. Carlo is a smooth skater who can control the puck very well and get into open areas for scoring chances; that being said, he does and will need help finding offense due to his natural defensive style of play. All-in-all, a towering, defensive d-man that has very few holes in his game and is physically ready to make the next step. Source Daniel Sprong Age: 18 Birthplace: Amsterdam, NED Position: Rightwing Height: 6'0 Weight: 183 lbs Current League: QMJHL: Charlottetown Checkers Player Info: A prolific scoring winger who possesses an elite-level skillset: has dynamic skating ability, is a creative passer, and has incredible puckhandling ability. While he is offensively dominant, he is also defensively responsible. A very hard working player who strives to improve all aspects of his game. Absolutely electric. Source Jake Debrusk Age: 18 Birthplace: Edmonton, AB, CAN Position: Left Wing Height: 6'0 Weight: 176 lbs Current League: WHL: Swift Current Broncos Player Info: A two-way winger with good mobility and scoring ability. Willing to battle in the dirty areas and can always find the puck and make the smart play below the hashmarks. Shows good creativity and deception with the puck. Good individual skills and makes good use of any time and space found. DeBrusk won't beat you up physically, but he can definitely beat you up on the scoreboard. All-in-all, a competitive two-way winger with the natural goal scorer's instincts. Source Jeremy Bracco Age: 18 Birthplace: Freeport, NY, USA Position: Centre/Right Wing Height: 5'9 Weight: 172 lbs Current League: NCAA: Boston College (2015-2016 Season) Player Info: He's small, that's for sure. Coming in at 5'9" 172 lbs, he would be considered too small for the NHL by scouts, coaches, general managers, analysts, and the list goes on. With his lack of size, Jeremy Bracco nullifies it with his incredible offensive skill. Perhaps he is small, but he's hard to get off the puck due to his elite skating and stride. Once he gets going, it's difficult to catch up. He strikes me so much of what Patrick Kane was when he was at his age, but Bracco has found a bit more success oddly enough. Kane put up 68 points (33 goals, 35 assists) with the U.S. National U18 Team, while Bracco put up 94 points (30 goals, 64 assists.) Source Noah Juulsen Age: 18 Birthplace: Abbotsford, BC, CAN Position: Defence Height: 6'1 Weight: 176 lbs Current League: WHL: Everett Silvertips Player Info: A solid two-way defender, Noah Juulsen is able to force plays and always find ways to support his teammates. Juulsen is a smooth, yet not dynamic skater, and is mobile when he needs to be. Plays with a chip on his shoulder, and isn't afraid to take the hit to make the play. Sees the ice well and has the individual skills to carry out the possibilities he sees. Very poised with the puck; calm and controls the play with authority. Has good hands. Without the puck and in high-pressure situations, Juulsen tends to overthink things and can try to do a little too much; that will go away with time and maturity. All-in-all, an impactful presence on the ice that strives to be difficult to play against; given how hard he works and how smart he is with the puck, he can be a very difficult player to read with and without the puck. Baer. Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Montreal needs big centers. None are available, so they pick Juulsen. Could be a good fit with PK. Montreal - Juulsen Anaheim also needs centers but not as direly as Montreal. Tough to choose between DeBrusk and Sprong. Anaheim - DeBrusk, because they are filled on the right side.
