To Edm: Lack, Hamhuis, Kassian and the 23 pick OA

To Van: Draisaitl, Picks 33 & 57 and a conditional pick in 2016 5th round becomes a 3 if Hamhuis or Lack resign a 2nd if both do.

Why Edmonton does this : addresses their need for a goaltender and a top 4 dman as well as adding a

physical presence in Kassian and gives them an additional first round pick to draft Ilya Samsonov ahead of the Sabres at 24.

Why Vancouver does this : Get a high end offensive talent in Draisaitl who instantly becomes their top

prospect as well as gaining additional draft picks and creates cap room and room on the roster to get

younger.

As has been reported, Benning wants a 2nd rounder for Lack....

Short of a suddenly quick bidding war, there's no way that Vancouver gets to what amounts to a freebie in moving up 7 spots in the 1st round.

If EDM gets Lack outside of a bidding war and VAN gets offered their #33, Benning should take that pick and run with it.
