Carl's Jn
Brandon Saad (born October 27, 1992)[1] is an American professional ice hockey player for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Saad was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attendedPine-Richland High School. He is an American of Syrian descent.[2] He was drafted in the second round, 43rd . This is the reason why Benning is so keen on getting a second round pick.. not just to recover one but who knows we could end up with a player like Brandon Saad. Go Benning I trust you! -SN-
That's cool and all, but you're just poaching a single good example among many failures. Obviously it pays of sometimes. That doesn't change the fact that 90% of the time it doesn't.
Jock Cousteau
Is this a rumour, or a signing of things to come?
Bob.Loblaw
Drafting WELL pays off. Developing well pays off. You can make late picks and even undrafted players and turn them into NHLers.
Carl's Jn
Wrong section?? not really... i put this in this section because of all the trade facts that benning is going after a 2nd rounder.

Crackers
- Mayson Raymond - Alexander Mallet... To be fair, Mason is a solid nhl regular with over 500 games played. I would consider that to be a successful 2nd round pick.
-AJ-
Odd how you picked Saad and not Patrick Roy. EDIT: Roy was technically a 3rd rounder, but he was 51st Overall, so a 2nd rounder by today's standards.
