Who interviews with a news radio station in another country if they are wanting to cut ties with that team?

Brock knows exactly the kind of platform we're serving up for him...

He knows how highly regarded he is by management (Jim has gone on record to state that he travelled to watch Brock extensively in his draft year) and is starting to hear some buzz among the fans as well. He knows he is only a few weeks from playing professional hockey for the organization that drafted him, where he could literally be THE number one guy in short order. You better believe the kid is excited, he's just staying focused on the task at hand.

The Nucks are putting college hockey on the map with the recent crop of Stech, Demko, Hutton, Brock, even Tanev to some extent.
Brock not only fits here, but it's a perfect fit at that.

No need to rush the guy, but we're really not playing for anything right now. Let him make plays with his old pal Troy in a no pressure environment, get him into the system, shelter his minutes.
Play him with Goldobin for what it's worth. Play him with Bo, let that rub off a little. Play him with the Twins for a couple shifts.

We have so many question marks and so many 'what ifs' that we just need to try them all out.
If Markstrom hadn't been shafted for playing time all year, I'd even say bring Demko up to play a couple games here. Unfortunately it's still Marky that's in audition-mode right now...

This isn't really 'shiny new toy' syndrome though. We're not handing him the keys to the city yet, but give the kid's ego a boost... he's our top prospect and let's treat him like it.

Unless of course the wrist is really that bad still.

Then let him know how important he is to this team going forward and let him travel with the team, meet the guys, etc.
Get him in Canucks-branded clothing at the VERY LEAST.

He's not signing cause his wrist is still injured. Rumour is he can't even write his name properly let alone pick up a pen. This doesn't look good fellas. Wine wine wine.

But I'm pretty sure he can jerk it off!!

Almost miss him

I though he was the best troll ever!  I was a lurker then, but found him entertaining.  Such passion, so miss placed.  I hope he has gone out into the world, found sunlight and went on a date.

What happens if we aren't able to sign Boeser? as in he doesn't want to play for us"

Well then we lose his rights TWO AND A HALF YEARS from now. If he so badly doesn't want to play for us that he is willing to postpone and shorten his career by maybe twenty percent.

Just reposting this for all the "Boeser isn't going to sign with us" people. A guy doesn't wear his franchises jersey if he for some reason plans on not signing and playing there.

Also huge respect for the Character that is Boeser.

Thanks for posting +1

I read he might sign today! Gmjb said he sees him as a second or third line winger.ive always hoped he would be our first. Am I over evaluating him or does Jimbo hope for someone even better?

It might be another college UFA but definitely not Boeser. UND is still playing and hasn't been eliminated from tournament hockey yet. He can't sign until they're done for the season which isn't for (at the soonest) another week or the latest (until the last weekend of the NHL season).

Do you mean that you read Boeser will sign today or that Boeser is signing today? I don't think he can/will sign until his North Dakota year is over.

UND season is not over yet, so they can't sign him at this moment.

Too many people on this board are prone to hysterical outbursts for no reason whatsoever.

Plus 1 by the way, would do plus 5 if the system would let me!

Source?

Sorry for the late response. This is the source.

https://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/rumor-team-could-close-on-a-deal-with-first-round-pick-as-soon-as-today/?ref=seb

RUMOR: Team could close on a deal with first round pick as soon as today!

On TSN 1040 Vancouver, Bob McKenzie (TSN insider) revealed interesting information regarding the Vancouver Canucks and a potential move that could occur as soon as today.

According to McKenzie, Jim Benning could offer a professional contract to their former first round pick of the 2015 NHL entry draft, Brock Boeser, as soon as today. Brock Boeser is a 20-year-old right winger that mainly played for the University of North Dakota. The 6ft1, 191 pounds scored 15 goals and registered 16 assists in 29 games in the NCAA leagues.

Interesting fact, Brock Boeser could be in the Vancouver Canucks' lineup as soon as this year to join the push for playoffs. As soon as the NCAA season is over on April 9th, Boeser could join the Canucks.

As per Hockey’s Future, Boeser has great puck skills, an accurate shot and a very quick release. He is an excellent passer as well. Like most young, offensively oriented forwards, he needs to work on the defensive aspects of his game. He will need to bulk up to be able to dominate at the NHL level. Long term Boeser projects as second or third line winger with scoring ability and a two-way game.
