Scruffy05
Get him signed. Burn a year if you have to, it is an even money bet. And get one of our doctors to take a damn good look at that wrist of his.

Odd.
Give him an ATO to Utica and play him regular minutes there. He could help Utica reach the playoffs. Edited March 25, 2017 by Odd.

That benefits Utica, and the fans who want to see Brock play some more games, a hell of a lot more than it benefits Brock. I can't think of one good reason for him to do this when he is basically guaranteed to sign a contract somewhere between now and next season.

If you want to really piss him off offer him an ATO to play in Utica lol. I just hope he signs so we can get him into a few games with the Canucks this year.

I'd question JB's reasoning behind it as well, especially after a year where he had surgery and rumoured to still have a sore wrist. It's just rumour, and the announcers mentioned it during today's game as well, but that doesn't mean they have access to teams doctors or reports vs just making broadcast conversation. If he could use the time to heal up a bit I don't really care if he plays any games with us this season or not. Like many people I'll be quite happy when he signs though.

It wasn't a shot at him personally, though I guess I can see how it might come off that way. What I meant to say was, Brock is a first round draft pick and high picks aren't usually asked to sign ATOs as a favor to the team. I think Brock would be taken aback somewhat if Benning were to try that tact, which I'm also 100 percent sure he won't. His agent would shoot that down straight off anyway. It would make sense were he a project like, say, Joe Labate was coming out of Wisconsin. This stuff has already been decided by precendent.

Oh no, I didn't take it as you were insinuating he'd actually be pissed off. It seemed jocular. Imagine if he signed a tryout and then, god forbid, hurt himself. I think we're in agreement that he won't be playing in Utica this season, and I'm pretty sure we were on that page prior to skategals recent post.

Hasn't even got to his dressing room before they speculate. Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't want to start thinking about collecting an NHL paycheque starting next week, making more money every week than many people make in a year. And getting a signing bonus big enough to buy a cheap home or a really nice car. I imagine he wants to savour the loss for a while. Lol.
