I dunno. I saw him get hit with his back to the boards and he seemed to handle it fine. He also had a brilliant pass to Bo and some good stick-handling moments. I think he just needs to be shooting a bit more. He seems to be hesitating too much, imo.

He really needs to drop that extra weight and work on his skating too. He just isn't finding the lanes. Guys are on him too fast.

Right now Boeser, Horvat and Baertschi need to collectively up their games. They were not bad by any means but they have a lot more in themselves to give than what we saw last night.

They certainly will need to up their games and fight through the checking but Calgary was also ALL over that line and gave them next to no space. They'll adapt ;)

I do wonder if Boeser is still hurting. That was a pretty horrific injury he took. I hope there isn't something lingering with him. Something is definitely off. Like, majorly off.

There's also some of this ^^. Maybe not 'hurting' but he clearly didn't get a full summer of training and his timing, feel for the pucks etc all seems a bit off. He also needs to get used to the muscle he added.

It's likely that he will come out of this slump on the power play.

One regular season game = slump... ok...

Guy was recovering from 2 separate injuries this season, so his off-season training time was shortened significantly.  @*Buzzsaw* mentioned in the GDT (and I quote for those who didn't get to read the comment)

He takes what could have been a career ending hit at the end of the season... obviously that will make a big impression.

To recover, he needs to build core strength and muscle... he does that... put on some pounds... not fat.  That is a smart decision... he doesn't want to develop a weakness in his back and see a recurrent injury.

But he's still a little tentative, he doesn't have the confidence he had last year... it will take him some time to get a feel for the game back.  His skating style is going to change with the extra muscle... on the good side, he can work in the corners better and hit on the forecheck better.

Brock still needs the NHL game experience to return to form; both physically and psychologically.  This ain't no 'beauty league'.

Have patience Nuck fans.

I was listening to Buttons last night and he said green should put Boeser with Petterson and both would shine all year. Boeser being with Horvat is not working. nothing against Horvat but he is more about himself than passing. I tend to agree. at least give it a try.

Baertschi Horvat Eriksson

Horvat is a bit of a puck hog, him and Baer already have chemistry and Eriksson is a pretty good puck distributor and can pick up the defensive responsibility on the line. Definitely a weak top line but it can be matched up to create better match ups for line 2.

Goldobin Petterson Boeser

Petterson will wake Brock up, this line speaks for itself, eventually will become top line, baby steps.

Bottom 6 stays the same

Not crazy about bout putting both (three?) of our most talented snipers on the same line but could be good to jolt the system. I wouldn't mind giving this a trial run.

That kinda stuff scares me...like I think the young kid will get swept up in all the fandom (money) and will blow their game. It has happened so many times.

We all know Boeser seems to come from humble beginnings so I hope to hell he has a long successful career in Van!

Can you show some examples of where fandom in the NHL has blown a young players game?

Don't be lazy. Look it up yourself. Try google.

This comment sounds like a couch potato telling someone else to not be lazy.....

I know what you're trying to tell him, but I think your accusation may have backfired. lol

Lol.  You make a quote that is obviously BS, then you can’t even provide one example, yet you said it happens so many times.

Big old fail dude.

I doubt we fans can effect a player’s game, but we definitely can effect (along with local media scrutiny) where a player chooses to play.  I think Tavares is one of the few big time UFAs to come to a hot Canadian maket, isn’t he?  It seems like a lot of guys would rather allow their families to enjoy the anonymity of the US cities.  Maybe this contributes to us not getting the cup up here since ‘93?

Listening to the Canes game..  Hirsch saying B.B. looks slow,.  Wonder if playing in “da Beauty League” has anything to do with it?

I'd guess that bulking up with more weight has more to do with it.
