Ossi Vaananen
Oh god... I don't understand this organization anymore. I was a Gillis supporter up till the Tortorella hire, and I was excited round to round in 2013 when we snagged guys like Cassels and Subban in later rounds. Gillis also knew his contracts, both in value and term. He goofed on the NTCs of course. Looking at Benning, I'm concerned now... I mean a long term deal for an AHL goaltender? He has to prove himself first.

Trebreh
Beartchi and Markstrom know our management is cray after seeing the contracts given to sbisa and dorsett.... so theyre trying to cash in as well. ?..
drdeath
I wouldn't be payin him a dollar over 1.3/yr or else there was no point in offloading Lack.

Joker
Which veteran will we sign after Miller so that we can trade Markstrom? Cam Ward
JeremyCuddles
Both will be a part of the future. Miller will get resigned for 4 years after his current deal is up then we lose Markstrom for a 4th and 6th. Demko bolts for free agency.
DeNiro
I don't know why people are so worried. If Markstrom succeeds at the next level, suddenly we have a great young starter for cheap, and the Luongo deal doesn't look so bad. If he fails, then we end up in top 10 draft pick territory for the next few years until Demko is ready.

Or dump him for a low pick and bring Eddie back on a hometown discount contract until Demko is ready.

Crabcakes
I don't mind locking up Markstrom for term as long as it is for cheap. To do it before he thinks he is worth something is smart.
WHL rocks
Of course you want to get him signed for 3 or 4 years. Hes UFA in 2 years. It would be wise to get him signed for a cpl of those years.

It would be stupid not to take advantage of this. Worst case scenario he becomes a cheap back upand we have to sign another starter when Miller's gone. gradin123
Knowing this management, Sbisa signing, they probably will give Markstrom a 4 year contract @ $3.5M per.
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
I never knew Lack used to be Markstroms back up, funny world.
Boudrias
What is long term? I doubt either Sven or Marky get more than 3 years and that is to much. Neither haveproven a thing in the NHL.SB comes in and plays top 6 with Bonino and Vrbata. The sample is small but if he has to be in a top 6role he could easily fail.Markstrom with confidence issues is eased in as a backup. The best scenario for him but the quality ofVan's d-core is no better. Both Miller and Markstrom will have a real challenge again next year. I guessthe positive is that Markstrom dealt with that in Utica and Miller has played his entire career that way. Maybe that is why Benning wanted to keep Miller. shazzam
Might be more than 2. You wouldn't want Miller and his contract to expire at the same time. Markstrom is bennings guy. I don't care if it's 3. If he sucks then we get higher picks which is what we need
