Start off bidding high, settle in the middle. Nothing unusual. He should get $7ish mill money. He is a top 5 dman in the league.

Oh for sure. I could see him landing money like Ryan Suter.

Suter made $12, $12, $11 million per year for the last 3 years, he'll be getting $9 mill per year for the next 5 years. I don't think he'll be getting Suter money.

"Hamilton was apparently a loner in the Bruins locker room and didn't really get along with any of his teammates."

Been digging around Boston media sources and forums (including HF) and some people feel that, while there may be some truth to this, it's also a product of a smear campaign from the Bruins organization to justify trading Hamilton like they did with Seguin.

Make what you will of that.

You are correct sir. That was a poor player to try and compare what he'll get.

But i could see him getting that 7.5 - 8 M cap hit. With at least a salary of 9 for a couple or a few of those years.

I heard one hit wonder Giordano is also asking for high $$ upwards to like 9m.

Well, I'd take "one hit wonder" Giordano with his points and solid two way game over Sbisa and whatever he brings.

From what i have heard from Boston fans, Hamilton was putty and whining about not recieving a big offer from them. Some fans were saying he is looking for Drew Doughty and Alex Pietriangelo money and that he hasn't proven he can be a legitmate number one defence man who can play the big minutes. It will be interesting to see if he is given a minute crunching, top pairing role next year.

With his 4M cap hit would be nice, but a cap hit of upwards of 9M? That's huge for a 32 year old. Even if it was only 9M over 5 years that would mean he would be 37 when it expires... Well beyond the prime in his career.
