SealTheDeal
Only if we're lucky Nah, we'll be lucky if we can pick up Justin Williams for 2yr/4M - he is an asset easily flipped at trade deadline and an awesome mentor for young players.
mpt
Lol what a joke so many better options then this guy and we give him 1.5 I rather just let the rookies play Don't worry the rookies will play if they are ready

LeanBeef
Overstated. He fills his role well. As a $1.5 mil guy all he needs to do is add insurance. Anything more is a bonus. The 1.5 mil is solid, but Willie will probably put him in a more prominent top four role now that Bieksa is gone. He's great as a bottom pairing guy but is in over his head when higher than that. TheRussianRocket.
@RobTheHockeyGuy: A bit of a stroke of genius by Bennijg to not qualify Weber and still get him under contract. Thought it was going to blow up in their face.
The Big Luongo
Damn. Guy just can't play defense. Exactly. Makes a few good plays offensively but then makes bone headed mistakes and pretty weak in his own zone. With him and Clendenning playing they're going to give Miller fits cost us tonnes of goals against meanwhile a top Stanley Cup contender adds Kevin Bieksa for 2 years and 4 million per year. Foolish move giving Bieksa away.

Jester13
11 goals means nothing with his horrendous defensive ability. I would've preferred he walk. Uggh.
24K PureCool
Wow so much bitterness here. This is depth signing, when JB says he will try to sign a d-men he didn't mean Weber since he already stated he will get Weber signed. Weber for 1.5 million is fine for one year to say the least. Canuckid1990
Don't worry the rookies will play if they are ready Knowing Willie D he will play weber over the young guys and the problem is the cap hit... He isn't worth 1.5 he can't play D and we saw that all season long
CALGARY!
Im ok with this signing, the cap hit is acceptable and the term puts the pressure on Weber to either improve and impress or else he won't likely find another home in the NHL
goblix
Doesn't really matter when he lets in more goals than he scores. He was a +4 on the season which means he produced more goals than let in... He also was our only PP point producing d-man which don't count to the +/- totals. Essentially he becomes our insurance in case Corrado / Clendenning can't play regular minutes. KKnight2014
Man everybody talks like this Is a crippling signing. We know he's not great at defensive coverage, but for 1.5 million, what do you expect? I really dislike the majority of canuck fans, bunch of whiny know it alls.

BananaMash
I'm okay with the signing. I think perhaps Weber was used in a role too big for himself last year, but if they restrict his minutes a bit and mainly use him on the power play then I'm fine with it. You don't really know what to expect from Corrado or Clendening since they haven't played a whole season, so Weber is a bit of insurance for that limited role (and they know how he's capable of performing in the NHL).
