Episcopalians Vote to Allow Same Sex Weddings in US Churches

Good find.

Like I said....PC....technically, they broke the law by allowing it in the first place, now tasking it down is also breaking the law....for they are showing preference to non religion...

What a mess...

Why can't we all just get along.... Your race, colour of skin, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs shouldn't be a concern....

Unfortunately, most people don't think like that.

why religion is always trying to interfere on private lifes?

wanna be gay? super. YOUR choice

wanna be gay and marry? ok. YOUR choice.

wanna be gay and tell everybody? nice. we know it. YOUR choice

even in North Korea people have some privacy about their private lifes...

private life, private choices!

Why would any christian church allow same sex marriages? The bible is pretty clear on its thoughts on the matter. You can twist the "meaning" of the text any way you want it still comes across that homosexuality is a sin. One of my main problems with religions in general is the hypocrisy even when the end result is positive (in my eyes anyways).

Yeah, I'm fine with that, but this is like letting people smoke weed in a government building.

Beliefs should be PRIVATE. Human rights aren't a privately held "belief". That you need this explained to you AGAIN is sad, terrifying and embarrassing.

Where do we get the right to marry from? Isn't that more of a civil right?

public space. common choices...

you can´t have sex in the middle of the street because it´s a public space so everybody has the same right...

but on your property you can do that doesn´t matter if it´s on your room or on the garage. if you´re not comiting a crime there it´s your private life so nobody has the right to disturb your privacy...

Yeah, I see what you're saying.

But the church is God's sanctuary, so his house, his rules, I guess.

someone (Heretic I think?) posted a really long article about why the bible actually supports gays.. I remember reading most of it but not all.. maybe he can post it again, or give the cliff notes version of it..

I think I may have read the article... not exactly saying that the bible supports homosexuality. Just that it doesn't talk about them like people says it does.

I took it with a handful of salt.

pretty much.

people are trying to tell "the church must accept gay marriage" but in fact the church is a PRIVATE space so if the priest/pastor refuse to do it he´s not wrong.

"God´s house, God´s rules"

just like any place the church has it´s own rules, they don´t have to accept gay marriage if they don´t want. legal marriage is one thing but religious marriage is other thing.

some churches might accept that, some don´t. if gays find themselves insulted go to a church where they can marry and done. don´t mess with private decision...

even undertanding the gay community about their rights they can´t force everybody accept that, people have to respect private decisions but people can´t force you like it.

Because Christians are supposed to follow Jesus - and Jesus said - love one another.

Says who? You? :emot-parrot:

When did you "explain" this to me again?

You resorting to taking jabs at me - yet again - that's what's really terrifying and embarrassing.... :sick:

In a nutshell, we need more "reformed" Christians...

This is a good video on the same subject:

What we need more than "reformed Christians" are believers who are doers of the Word rather than just hearers. Other than that, ask Jesus what he thinks - with an open heart.

The fact that my parents, among others, have seen Jesus bring willing people out of homosexuality makes me question that line of thinking. However, I will continue to ponder and see what God's heart is on the matter.

I don't doubt you have a good heart on the matter, but I just don't think I'm able to see it the same way. And trust me, I've tried.
