LOL some boos for Benning. Some people need to get a life

Linden: excited about young players, says that the young prospect pool is something worth getting excited about. Thinks that ulimately that getting younger and adding some of those defenceman will help the team transition out of the zone faster/more efficiently.

Shorthouse brings up Lack, Eddie chants start.....

Benning: Happy with the regular season last year. Dissapointed in the playoff performance. Wants to get faster and players that play with emotion. If Virtanen can earn a spot he will be on the team. Bartkowski is going to help with the transition game. Wants to transition the puck faster, mentions Prust as an emotional leader.

Willie:Says you can;t play your young players unless they are good enough to make the jump. Was generally excited about 6/7 kids that were at propsects camp. If you want to win you need your leaders (Sedins, Burrows, Dorsett ETC) to help develop the younger players. Veterans were excited about having Horvat on the team.

Victor: Shorty didn't get any cocktails this year :P ..... Renovated a couple of the kitchens, opening up a sportsbar for 365 days a year.

Questions?

Do you think over NHL teams give a lower market value on Canucks players than other NHL teams

JIm: Eddie Lack trade, watch Markstrom and talk with goalie coaches in Utica. Mentions that he is extremely competitive and has good bounce back to his game. Think Markstrom will be a number 1 goalie. GMs around the league viewed Lack as a Backup

Linden: Precieved value is one thing, the market value is another thing.

Whats was the possiblity of trading Miller?

Teams were calling on Miller (boos, stupid fans, Benning eye rolls) Wanted a number SOLID 1 goalie, didn't know if Eddie could handle the number 1 job

Is it possible to rebuild on the fly?

Linden, yes it is possible. Feels they will be in the hunt for a playoff spot next year.

Why are you spending so much on a 4th line? Wants a cup in three years :picard:

Benning loves the passion of our fans, and the emotions, want to do things the right way. Drafting players who have high character. Brisbose is going to be a top 4 defence man. Calgary played with more emotion than Vancouver. Benning doesn;t want our young players to be picked on, create a safe working environment.

Linden: Culture carriers, players who you want around your young players. Work hard, stick up for his teammates, practice at 110%

How is this team going to get younger? What was the point in getting rid of some of the mangement staff?

John Weisbeck left Calgary in a good position, no decisions were made in haste, some people in the staff didn't have the same organizational philosphily.

Getting older; trying to identify the next core of this team, Kassian had 3 years to figure it out, Benning knows what Prust is going to give night in and night out. Kassians inconstience lead to him being trades. Miller will mentor Markstrom (believe he will be a number 1) then Demko after Markstrom. Everyone in the organization is high on Demko

What are the key aspects to winning the Stanley Cup this year?

:picard: talked about armchair quarterbacks HINT HINT CDC. Making the playoffs is hard, but anything is possible in the playoffs

When can the logo not have the Orca Bay company logo a part of it?

Logo is a idenity of the organization.

enter Virtanen, Boeser, Cassels, McCann, Demko,

Virtanen: doing well, playing in Utica was a great experince

Boeser: Two-way powerforward can score.

Cassels: Talked about running around the dressing room as a kid. Memorial Cup was a great experience

McCann: Disapointed with how the season ended.

Demko: Doing well after having hip surgery, likes the city and the staff

Cassels: Linden talked about how Cassels shuting down Mcdavid, Cassels talked about having to keep Mcdavid in front of them taking the right routes to limit this time.

Two truths and a lie

Virtanen: Drive a smart car, has a tattoo, and has dual citizenship to Finland

Boeser: Brock means badge, favorite colour is blue, favourite food is Carrots

Cassels: Dad played here for 4 year(played 3 year), was born in Hartford, broke his phone on the carpet

McCann; Brother is adpoted, is a skydiver, missed the last one

Demko: is a good surfer, is allergic to nothing, grew up playing roller hockey

20 special nights during home games to celebrate 20 years in Roger Arena.

Wait, does that mean they plan on re-signing Miller, or that Demko will be in the NHL after next season?

Miller still has 2 years on his deal...most likely meaning Benning is planning to hold onto Miller the whole duration of his contract. Meaning high hopes Markstrom strings it together in 2 years and Demko will be ready by then...lots of high hopes

He meant that Miller will mentor Markstrom next year and then Markstrom will mentor Demko when he's ready. Not necessarily in 2 years.

That thinking is just illogical. How can he be penciling-in Demko and making decisions now based on Demko working out. The odds are tremendously stacked against him being an NHL starter, having him in a succession plan at this point in time is at best wishful thinking and at worst blind ignorance.

Thank you and goodnight.

What's stacked against Demko, exactly?

It doesn't mean that Demko has to be NHL ready by the time Miller's contract runs out. It just means they see Demko eventually becoming our number 1 after Markstrom. They can easily sign backups if needed after Miller's contract runs out.
