-Vintage Canuck- Posted July 10, 2015 Share Posted July 10, 2015 The Canucks have signed Alex Grenier to a 1-year deal: Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have re-signed right wing Alexandre Grenier to a one-year deal. Grenier, 23, appeared in his second season with the AHL Utica Comets in 2014.15, collecting a career-high in points (43) and assists (26). He finished the season ranked second on the team in goals (17) and assists, and tied for second in points. Grenier also tied for second for the team lead in scoring during the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs, registering 15 points (6-9-15) in 23 games played. The 6’3”, 206-pound forward has appeared in 139 career AHL regular season games split with the Utica Comets and Chicago Wolves, registering 82 points (34-48-82) and 129 penalty minutes. He's probably the first call up once the first injury strikes the Canucks forward corps. Hell, he's a challenger for a regular roster spot this training camp. Exactly, Baertschi is looking for some commitment from the Canucks which he deserves. After all they did trade a second for him and he is an asset, his agent knows that and has leverage.
