Or they dont want to risk injury and likely move him between now and deadline. They did the same with Higgins tho it took him a week or so to play a game did it not? Also welcome Weber or Cracknell to Utica soon im sure as well as we likely waive someone tomorrow to make room for Hamhuis, unless Benning makes a trade over a waiver transaction

I imagine that extra week as with Higgins, is to let him find a place to stay and get his affairs in order. They also probably want him to get in to a couple of practices before he jumps right in there. I think that Weber is next to the waiver wire and I think he has the greatest chance of being claimed of the three. 1.5 million for a Dman that could step into a lineup right away, but should be a 7/8, might keep teams away. Then again there are a lot of teams out there with plenty of cap space. I'd love to see Weber play for the Comets so I hope he clears.
ECKO Canuck
I have got tickets to both the games here vs the comets this weekend. I cant wait to see our canucks young guns play mostly subban and shinkaruk. Im also going to keep on eye on players like cassels, gaunce and pedan as well. It would of been good to see prust play this weekend but at least higgins is in the line up. Too bad John Scott is not playing any games this weekend vs utica I would of liked to see him play. hobart16
Weber on the waiver wire. If Adam Clendening was picked up by somebody off the wire, it seems Weber might be too, although they have to carry him on the NHL roster and absorb his 1.5 cap hit, which expires this year. Would love to see him in Utica as we need help at the blue line and he used to be pretty effective on the PP.

I think that's next year for him. Thing is, I don't see how he bumps Dorsett or Etem from the line-up, so they might just hold him in the AHL paying him big bucks to be a leader on the team down there like Cal O'Reilly or someone similar. Team needs a 13th (and possibly 14th) forward. That's Grenier IMO.

This^ Grenier would be pretty much the opposite of Dorsett; instead of quick and not overly large but feisty, Grenier comes in vs big teams that may not have the fastest skaters in the world. That, or if the opposition has a somewhat smaller defense, then he can get in on the PP, standing in front of the net. Expecting him to be third line winger, at this point, I believe would be unrealistic.
