IBatch
Edmonton gets their defense. We get two highly talented players to kick start the rebuild we need. Recent trades have shown NTC don't matter anymore with Vancouver so this is a possible trade. We continue our salary dump to help next years UFA market and Edmonton gets Edler and the possibility of re-signing Hamhuis on one of the most exciting youth movements in the league. Wow. Horrible idea. We don't need to become the Oilers

It makes our strongest point if our team stronger (forward youth/ forward prospect) and rhe weakest part or our team weaker (defense). It just doesnt make any sense at all. BI3KSA-
We instantaneously become the worst team in the league, so this would only be a thing we'd do if we were planning to tank hard
thejazz97
Ha! NO Maybe Hamhuis and Prust for Draisaitl and a 2nd/3rd, but only if EDM is in a *giggle* playoff position

Bold is my favourite part. Recent trades have shown that NTC's absolutely do matter, as the only places NTC players are going are contenders in sunny climates (Anaheim, Tampa). Edmonton already got their defense. They signed Sekera, traded for Reinhart, and have Nurse and Klefbom coming in, and Fayne and Ference to help the rookies. Going forward, that looks far better than what Vancouver has. Edler and Hamhuis took less money so they could stay in Vancouver. And there aren't many teams in the league that need them more than we do either. This makes absolutely no sense, from any angle.
Fanuck
All Edmonton prospects are tainted.....they believe they are going to a championship team and therefore have this stench of entitlement about them.....when they realize exactly how bad their entire organization is, it's too late. Remains to be seen if new management/McJesus can do anything about that air of entitlement. So, thanks to your proposal, but no thanks.

Gstank29
So why do we need more forwards?
thejazz97
So why do we need more forwards? Because not enough forward movement means you start going backwards.

TimberWolf
Moot point if the deal sucks or not, Edmonton isn't interested. If they trade for defense it'll be younger guys.
