I am criticizing your final estimations of Ehlers, Vrtanen, and Nylander. You are pulling a Nostradamus by telling us exactly what kind of players they will be. I find it extremely aggravating to hear that Ehlers is better than Vrtanen. Guess what? They're not in the fcking NHL.

Did we expect Bertuzzi Morrison and Naslund to ever become our top line? No, we definitely did not. But they were able to create a synergistic energy together and become the single best line in hockey for 3 seasons. Many fans were calling the Sedins a third line checking unit, and called their ceiling 2nd line support players at best, in the few first seasons, and look what they did. You just never know.

I see so much of Naslund in Baertschis game. He is so creative and so gifted skillwise. I can see him being a first liner. Horvat and Morrison dont really compare.. in my mind, Horvat is a first line centre because he can handle the playing time, play big, play in any situation. And he has proven he has the skill to use his wingers as well as shoot the puck. Virtanen is a perfect compliment to those 2. Id be estatic if we have a top 6 in Horvat, McCann, Baertshchi, Virtanen, Cassels, Shinkaruk.

Don't ever expect to see a lot of goals from Baertschi, but he is a highly skilled play-maker.

He needs a sniper on his line and Vrbata may well be the answer.

In the long run, yes. And if they keep improving and working on their game, and play with the right guys, 70 pts will be pedestrian, 90 pts. and up will be within reach.
