Brad Marchand
So we have a naslund greatness thread, but where the heck is a Bure thread? he was twice the player nazzy was, no disrespect, but most of you have grown up on Nazzy and the WCE without having had the pleasure to watch Bure in action. The all time most talented canuck was Bure please lets pay respects to him first and nazzy second. flame on its summer time Uh, the OP posted a video he uploaded yesterday featuring Naslund's 6 point game. It isn't strictly a Naslund admiration thread. His channel has a boatload of Bure videos if you want to recollect his greatness. Pretty sure Bure doesn't need an extra thread for people to realize how great he is, anyway.

apollo
If the Sedins would have developed just a little bit faster our top two lines could have been: Naslund - Morrison - Bertuzzi Sedin - Sedin - Linden Which would have been insane. Then throw in depth guys like Cooke, Klatt, Ruutu, Chubarov, Letwoski, etc. Even without a great goaltender we probably wold have won the Cup... at least once. Meh linden woulda been better suited on the 3rd. I'd put the cooker with the twins instead. Too bad the WCE boys weren't sedin level and they plateaued so quick. Other than a those couple of seasons where he really clicked with Bert and Mo, he was a streak player. Bure was lights out an incredible player. Sure there's lots of old hi-lites of his goals but what the younger fans missed out on was the magic every time he stepped on the ice. All the eye-balls were on Bure every shift. He made other teams play completely different yet it never stopped him. And when he wasn't scoring 50-60 goals, he probably had several hundred more rushes a season that brought fans out of their seats. Whereas, Nazzy would go long stretches almost invisible many of the years he was in a Nucks uni.
Maginator
Anybody notice how much slower the game looks? I know the Canucks had several PP's, but still.. There seems to be much quicker defensive pressure and puck movement in todays game.

BanTSN
Hard to deny the skill. One of the greatest Canucks of all time! Bertuzzi's net presense was also outstanding. A behemoth. It's too bad the WCE never did anything in the playoffs, and it's too bad that Bertuzzi ended his time here the way he did, but before the Canucks had them they were on the verge of moving the team to the United States of America. Ever since then the Canucks have been one of the most successful sports entertainment businesses in Canada. You owe Naslund and the WCE more than you possibly could imagine, Vancouver Canucks fans. The Canucks were financially stable when Naslund and Bert came actually, but we still owe them big time. We were a losing team coming off our darkest years and they turned us into a winning hockey club. They changed our fortunes forever.

soshified
Yeah, no doubt! Other than a those couple of seasons where he really clicked with Bert and Mo, he was a streak player. Naslund wasn't great because he clicked with Bert and BMO. He was great because he had a shot that was out of the world + he was an offensive juggernaut Naslund was never the same after the Moore incident. Nave
Nazzy in his prime was something special. I remember his video in nhl 2005 - was better than years where they patch a whole bunch of peoples' highlights together. Hard to believe it was just one season

Jealous there's talk of a former Canuck not named Bure? Bure was certainly the most talented goal scorer to don the Nucks uni but he's certainly not the only star player to do so.
