Skirbs11
Kinda Bored so throwing some ideas out. 2015/2016 line up heading into the season after camp Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Baertschi-Sutter-Vrbata Higgins-Horvat-Hansen Dorsett-Vey-Prust Kennins Edler-Tanev Hamhuis-Weber Sbisa-Bartkowski Corrado Miller/Markstrom Come trade deadline I think we are going to be sellers, The team we have is average, depth through the line up but when it comes to Anaheim, LA, Dallas, STL, Calgary, Edmonton, Chicago ect ect., they all got better while we stayed the same, maybe even lost some offense. Players I see us moving out- Hamhuis, Vrbata, Weber, Prust and Higgins. Hamhuis: 50% retained to ANA for Brandon Montour+1st rd pick. Anaheim is in a win now mode, they are loaded up front and will be looking to add a veteran Dman to help guide them through the playoffs. 1st and a decent prospect, is comparable to returns in recent years. . Vrbata: 50% retained to CHI for Marko Dano+ 2nd rd pick. Chicago will be in the hunt again, possibly there last shot before they loose Seabrook. They add Vrbata to play in a role that Sharp vacated. They are notorious for trading good prospects and picks to acquire deadline players. Dano is very good NHL ready prospect which is why we settle for a 2nd instead of a 1st. Similar to the price the paid for Vermette. Weber+Prust: To Florida for 2nd and 4th rd picks. Florida is putting together a very good young lineup. I think they find themselves in the hunt for the 8 spot. Not enough to give up good prospects to get top end talent, but enough to give up a couple picks to acquire additional offensive help to there Blue line and a tough forward who is built for a grueling playoff push. . Higgins: To CAL for 3rd rd pick. Calgary is going to grind there way back into the playoffs relying heavily on there D and top line for scoring. They give up a pick to add Higgins into there top 6/9 for added scoring up front. Line up after Deadline Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Baertschi-Sutter-xxxx xxxx-Horvat-Hansen Dorsett-Vey-Kennins Edler-Tanev Sbisa-Bartkowski Corrado-xxxx Line up looks thin after, but should help us loose the majority of the games and push us close to a top 3 pick. Hoping that Dano will slot in on the wing then look to Utica to fill the other slot. Filling the D will be hard but if Montour keeps growing he will be able to slot in the bottom pairing then look again to Utica, Maybe Hutton or Subban for the remainder of the year as the 7th man. Leaves us with a few holes next season that we will have some $$$ to replace through F/A, as well as a promotion from Virtanen most likely as well as the possiblity of McCann or Cassels. Going into the draft this leaves us with 2 first rd picks, 3 second rd picks, 3 third rd picks and a couple 4ths and so on. If we can essentially tank for one year and cash in on assets we have, I think in the long run it will be best, we could get our future #1 Dman in Chychrun if we fall far enough in the standings (or even Matthews) as well as having a bundle of picks to get prospects, or package together to move up in the draft to target certain needs. Skirbs11
the weber prust won't happen at all Vrbata I doubt will goto the hawks Higgins we won't trade to the flames Thank you for your in depth analysis as to why the trades wont work/happen. Will really help me in the future with proposals Maybe explain. Why wouldnt Florida add depth for a playoff push? Why wouldnt Chicago add a top deadline player like they have in recent years. Why wouldnt we trade Higgins to the Flames?
