Actually it seems feminists are against this because of the stereotype that women are bad at parking.

Anyways I don't see what the purpose of this is at all. As deb said security issue is definitely legitimate but even men could be targeted by theft (just an example) in an underground lot. As the one lady in the article said, a better solution would be to improve parking lots in general.

Parking spots for pregnant women are a different story, those are necessary.

Like maybe actually making stalls wide enough to accommodate lets say a car ? The way they try to cram us in everywhere is half the problem.

Funny people have all these ridiculous gadgets to help them park and yet I see some complete dolt trying to back into a stall for 10 min in an underground parkade. the DMV really needs to stop handing out permits like PEZ ! A large amount of people should not drive at all. They lack any sort of awareness to pilot a multi ton vehicle.

lol

Not only did I teach my wife how to drive a standard, but I also taught her how to park backing in. (<- it's not that she couldn't park when backing in, she was just extremely terrible at it)

Wouldn't be good for the stereotype.

I'm going to go to a sign shop and have them make me a collapsible" Middle Aged Man Parking Only" sign and put in in front of my car at the mall.

I also try to get people with handicapped decals to stay in their own marked spots, unfortunately the mall will not tow them for parking in able bodied spots, discriminatory I tell ya.

Women with babies (only). The rest of us have fought for equality and this would be part of that. We're able bodied humans like men are and can walk to/from the parking lot

Security is a valid issue (as brought up), but anyone is vulnerable in a remote, dark, secluded parking spot. So it's about using street smarts and making choices.

Ahem, men with babies as well please...

I don't agree with this or even the pregnant baby parking spots. The pregnant spots at superstore are halfway up the parking lot, what sense does that make? The one sexist thing that pisses me off the most is the local ski mountains that let woman in for free on some days. I downright refuse to go to any resort that has this sexist policy. Woman free days? Fine, but even it out with men's free days. Absolute BS.
