Van bc Posted August 10, 2015 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I hope we've learnt from the past the No Trade Contracts only handcuffs us from being competitive down the road. Being able to trade a player for the better of the team should be the main objective not the player or players wife. None of the oilers first round picks have signed a NTC and management has full choice of how,why,where and when they will be traded which is the way it should be. It was a privilege to sign a contract with the canucks I don't believe all the NTC were nessesary. If other teams are staying away from the NTCs so should we. I really don't like it and it hurts the less desirable destination teams expecially in the Western conference. Other teams still have them too (Chicago has 9, the Rangers have 9 with more coming, Pittsburgh 8, St Louis 6 with two more coming for Pietrangelo and Tarasenko, Tampa Bay 9, Detroit 6, Toronto 6, Boston 9, etc.). You realize that GM's invented NTC's, and they are given voluntarily by GM's, usually to induce a paycut. BTW he's not a jerk. Just a class above you. It's a risk, sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesnt. It's not bad for teams and it shouldnt be taken out of the league. don't be a JERK. Vrbata (10 teams)and miller (5 teams)can be asked at any time for a list of teams they are willing to go to same with Sutter (15 teams) when he turns 30.
