People really didn't give him credit for his great defensive play... while he never laid out hits, he had a great knack for using his stick and body position to pin opposing players against the boards and taking them out of the play.

Peter Schaefer for Sami Salo is still one of the best trades ever completed by Canucks' management. Very classy player. His career was really derailed by injuries otherwise i think he could have been a 40+ points player for much of his time in Vancouver. Never really reached his true potential but a solid leader through and through.

Would love to see him work with some of our young players.

Powerplay coach? Teach them how to walk the line and rip a one-timer.

Teach them how to clap em home!

Our team always played so much better with him in the lineup.

Shame his career was so mired in injury, when healthy and in his prime years he was always easily Vancouvers best d-man. Heck of a shot and ability to QB a PP, and a rock in his own end as well. Always one of my favorite Canucks of the last 20 years.
