Japan attacked after the Americans, Dutch and Brits cut off steel and fuel shipments. The Americans, Dutch and Brits cut off the shipments because of Japanese expansion into China.Most American military folk and a lot of others, thought the Japanese were too short sighted, and short, to be good pilots and fighters.

Racism was rampant by many people then.

A lot of horrible, disgusting things happened during and after that war. The winning side writes the history books. They are kinder to themselves and harder on the vanquished.
