NucksCelts
Ducks sure don't have many weak spots on their roster.... It's pretty impressive... And they didn't even tank for McDavid!!! Zomg
R3aL
I'm guessing the Ducks line-up will look something like this, after the Santorelli signing: Maroon - Getzlaf - Perry Hagelin - Kesler - Silfverberg Cogliano - Rakell - Stewart Sekac - Horcoff - Santorelli Looks like a terribly annoying group to play against.. Quite a mix of skill/size/speed
Carl's Jn
The Ducks have signed former Canucks forward Mike Santorelli to a one-year contract worth $875K: The Ducks have signed center Mike Santorelli to a one-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed. Santorelli, 29, has appeared in 336 NHL games, scoring 55-65=120 points with 70 penalty minutes (PIM). He played in 79 NHL games last year with Toronto and Nashville, scoring 12-21=33 points with 14 PIM. He was acquired by Nashville with Cody Franson from Toronto in exchange for Nashville’s first-round selection in the 2015 Draft, and forwards Brendan Leipsic and Olli Jokinen. A native of Vancouver, B.C., Santorelli was drafted by Nashville in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft. He has played with Nashville, Florida, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Toronto in his career, setting career-highs with 20-21=41 points in 82 games with the Panthers in 2010-11. Santorelli played at Northern Michigan from 2004-07 before turning professional and joining the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. He played in the 2009 AHL All-Star Game and made his NHL debut with the Predators in the 2008-09 season, appearing in seven games. http://ducks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=777110 ducks.. you have already messed up your cup chances with two canucks .. now landing a third but ex canuck ok leaf lol ducks aren't winning the cup now... there knee deep in trouble with the canucks curse! desiboynux4lifee*******
great deal for the ducks, santo will give them 25 + points easily and has a chance to prove himself in the playoffs with no pressure.
Mike Vanderhoek
Great landing spot for him, I think he will have a good year on a great team the team is good for sure, but where will he play ? the team can still only dress 12 forwards each game. Guest
How on earth does he keep getting these low value contracts... Needs a better agent IMO. It's astonishing that in a league where Jeff Petry gets $5.5m, Santorelli continues to muster one-year deals at less than $2m.

He will be fouth line or 13th forward at minimum. Will fill in for injuries, help them with C depth, FO % and shootout wins while chipping in offensivley and being def reliable. The Bookie
Happy he found a job, but yeah Santo deserves to get paid proper. This is what was predicted when the new CBA was signed, guys like this getting squeezed out of the league unless they're willing to sign for less than they're worth. The fact he keeps getting one-year deals is more a result of the salary cap than is indicative of his play or his agent's capabilities. The cap has the rich getting richer and the "journeymen" searching for their next "low-ball' one year deal. It's going to continue to get worse. Look at Pittsburg, they are so top-heavy there bottom 6 will have to play near league minimum. +

UFCanuck
Depth move if someone gets injured. Maroon-Getzlaf-Perry Hagelin-Kesler-Silfverberg Sekac-Cogliano-Stewart Thompson-Horcoff-Rackell Jackman, Santorelli, McGratton
canucklehead44
Very useful player. Can play pretty much any forward position in any situation.

DeNiro
That third line looks better than our second ... Cogliano 15 goals Stewart 14 goals Sekac - 9 goals Sutter 21 goals Vrbata 31 goals Baertschi ? What looks better about it? The fact that Stewart is big? Or the fact that Cogliano is fast? Because other than that, our second line is superior in every way. Except for Baertschi who has yet to play full time, but considering Sekac only had 23 points last season, it shouldn't be that hard to match. Down by the River
If Santo can have a respectable FO%, he is way more valuable than Horcoff.
Pears
And what's scarier is that they still have the cap space to go out and get Franson or Ehrhoff too... If Baertschi and Sutter can provide around 20 goals each (maybe 15ish for Baertschi), with Vrbata being the main trigger man, then that would be a very good 2nd line. If Baertschi and Sutter can provide around 20 goals each (maybe 15ish for Baertschi), with Vrbata being the main trigger man, then that would be a very good 2nd line. The key to that line will be whether Baertschi can be a full time top 6 player. Sutter and Vrbata are mainly shooters, so Baertschi is gonna have to be the setup guy on that line. On paper that line looks good, but we'll see if the chemistry is there or not.

Will fill in for injuries, help them with C depth, FO % and shootout wins while chipping in offensivley and being def reliable. Santo wasn't even pencilled onto our AHL squad, never mind 4th line. Then there he was playing with Kesler. Hell, he even did shifts with the Twins. Took tough defensive draws on the 3rd line. Just sayin... Bet Kess was consulted about this as well!
