Z Hockey
This is where I think the top six selection spots will go, and who will be Drafted. Please post your ideas and even project the top 30 if you'd like, please post your player-comparison ideas too. 1. ARIZONA: Auston Matthews- I think he should go above Puljujarvi, Puljujarvi is a dynamic skater for his height, and he shoots from any angle and wants to open scoring lanes constantly, silky hands, but his finishing ability concerns me and he can be sloppy with the puck. He's quite raw IMO, But with Matthews he has a nice frame already, great rounded out game, knows how to protect the puck with his size, great speed and hands for his size. Is very mature and drives the net, decent release too. 2. CAROLINA: Jesse Puljujarvi- Elite ability to have all around edge coordination and a stride like that with height, is nearly filled out to a solid size already, shifty stick and hands, wants to shoot always. Reminds me of a bigger Alex Semin and a bit of Bobby Ryan. 3. TORONTO: Tyler Benson- Barely off the board pick, underrated, if he gets even bigger and starts to keep up with men (still in WHL), he could be the real deal, Elite offensive ability, knows how to attack in the offensive zone and utilizes his vast skills and tools. Toronto wants skilled players with all kinds of unique ability, he fits in with van Riemsdyk, Kadri, Marner, W. Nylander, K. Kapanen, Beck, Panik, Leipsic, Connor Brown, C. Bailey, Soshnikov, Korestelev, and Bracco. 4. NEW JERSEY: Matthew Tkachuk: Nice offensive touch, pace, and smarts, gets to scoring areas easily and can finish, decent size and has father Keith's offensive brain, drive, and pedigree. 5. BUFFALO: Jakob Chychrun: I think he drops, watching him play, potential star defenseman who can and will do anything on the ice for his team, heady, solid skater and edge control, excellent size and won't be pushed around. Sabres draft a stud to replace Zadorov after they gave him up in the R. O'Reilly deal, could be a monster future pairing with Ristolainen or Bogosian. Reminds me a tiny bit of Phaneuf. 6. BOSTON: Sean Day: Elite ability, skates very easily and fluidly and can skate himself out of any angle or situation, or rush up ice and gain the blue line. Nice size, 200 foot game and is a good kid with the right attitude. Could just end up a disappointment though and be like a Keith Ballard, which isn't terrible. I think he's a sure fire NHL'er, just might not be a star, if he hits a high ceiling though, Bruins will have a steal. Comparables of (Ranked Top 3) Matthews - Mikko Koivu/Jamie Benn/Kopitar Puljujarvi - Semin/Ryan/Seguin Chychrun - Phaneuf Please join in and share ideas! Gstank29
I really don't like Sean Day, everything about him screams BUST. I can see him becoming this years Oilver Kylington IF Boston is drafted 6th, I would epect them to take Logan Brown (assuming the draft was tomorrow) He seems to fit everything Boston looks for in a player
Nas19
Chychrun will go 2nd if not 1st and Day probably won't go in the top 6.

Yeah I was fighting between Boston drafting a winger or D man like Day. I think Boston if in this position will look at Max Jones.

Bissurnette
What's really surprising to me is the number of americans expected to go in the first round of this draft. They have really taken strides in improving their hockey programs. As a hockey fan this is great. As a Canadian this is terrifying.
