Very diplomatic, as always @oldnews (unless, of course, you're 5 posts into tearing wallstreetamigo a new one).

I guess, yeah, in your position it probably has as many positives as negatives. It would have been a real kick in the pants though had a contender paid a premium for him in the last week to add a potential playoff call-up player.

I was wondering if he might be a piece in a Hamhuis deal had he been willing to go east - tbh I'd probably have preferred that over the Laffs lol.

But the NHL landscape has been changing fairly swiftly.  Who knows - having Carrick and Percy in Toronto may not turn out so painfully down the road.  I think LouLam has lost his marbles, but in the end Babs is the ice General.

One odd thing about fantasy hockey though is that it chips away at your dislike for some other teams, with assets spread around the NHL.  My GML team is the Laffs - that was an odd thing to wrap my mind around.

As for the wallstreet dynamic - in here I'm supposed to be a GM - and try to act accordingly lol.   Out there, it's just CDC noise...

Aw, come on, then you'll miss all the babbling and trash talk!

Now that Monty and I can't deal anymore, and our real-life teams are out of the real-life playoffs, we'll have too much time on our hands. Everyone should expect a continual barrage of useless speculation, childish name-calling, and trivial nonsense...more so than usual!!!

Oh Lord, if I didn't feel bad enough before for flooding the board with my garbage, it's about to get a whole lot worse. Last year I was still the new guy at this point and well out of the playoffs. But now with somewhat of a chance once the playoffs start? Oh brother. I really feel bad for what's in store.

Absolutely. Never played fantasy hockey until midway through last season. I thought I followed hockey closely before, but it's a whole lot worse now.

Was actually watching Leafs games when Reimer was playing. And happy when they would win. Saarela getting traded IRL away from the Rangers was pretty crappy. And worst of all? Actually cheer against the Jets IRL now. Still want them to lose to get a top 5 pick this year, but not before Buff, Ehlers, and Scheifele pick up some points.

All trades from last night inputted into Pickup. Couple teams with roster issues.

@theminister you still have 10 NHL forwards. Please call up at least 2.

@Tony Romo your team is slightly over the cap with your acquisition of Mitchell. Please fix this ASAP (easy solution would be to send down Drouin me thinks)

Thanks guys!

Tampa Bay Lightning 3 Stars of the Month - February

1st Star: Steven Stamkos - Steven had a very good month of February, including a 6 game goal scoring streak. We'll need this kind of production from Steven the rest of the year for our team to suceed.

2nd Star: Joseph Blandisi - The breakout season for this young gun continued in February, although he'll be 1st place on many lists for top dives

3rd Star: Matt Beleskey - Another strong month for Matt. He is proving to be a valuable top 6 forward at a very low cost (3.8M per year)

Holy crap... So I have 18 picks for the upcoming draft, with 7 in the top 90.

The future is really bright in Buffalo. You already have some great prospects in the system and you're about to pick up a whole lot more.

Hopefully my team reaches the playoffs within the next 2-3 years..

Great night for my players. Ovechkin with another goal, showing no signs of slowing down at 30 years of age. And after 2 periods, Panarin with 2 goals, and Brent Seabrook with a goal and 3 assists.

Now, if only my prized deadline deal would start chip in <_<

Pittsburgh did not make a deal at the deadline, we will wait and see how our team can perform in the next few years with some good youth both in the NHL and in the system. We are happy with the two moves we did make prior to TDL, bringing in Parenteau in a move to shed an anchor of a contract and bringing in Plekanec for peanuts.

Pittsburgh Roster

Zach Parise - Derek Stepan - Mark Stone

Chris Kreider - Tomas Plekanec - Mikael Granlund

Patrik Berglund - Frans Nielsen - Troy Brouwer

Miikka Salomaki - Casey Cizikas - PA Parenteau

William Nylander - Marko Dano

Ryan Suter - Justin Faulk

Olli Maatta - Morgan Rielly

Brandon Manning - Nikita Nesterov

Dylan DeMelo

Semyon Varlamov - Jeff Zatkoff

We will look to have another strong draft this year, while trying to add to our team. We will be after some defensive depth and a top line centre while trying to hold on to a pending UFA or two.
