CDC Fantasy League 2015-16

The Minnesota Wild are excited to congratulate the real life Pittsburgh Penguins on their Stanley Cup!

We are even more excited with the fantastic showing, leading all scorers with 30 points in 24 games, of forward Logan Couture. We'd also like to congratulate Colin Wilson on a strong post season showing. Both pushed tough injury filled regular seasons out of memory & showed what they can really do!

Logan & Colin will help make up a group of 6 & as many as 7 top ten drafted forwards give us a ton of reason to believe a big rebound season is in store for our fans!

With a healthy look up front > off season plans are said to include jumping into free agency with gusto & possibly the trade market to improve the back end.  We have added in 6 months Darnell Nurse, Petter Granberg, Jordan Schmaltz, Rinat Valiev, Jakob Jerabek, Maddison Bowey & Jan Kostalek, Markus Niemelainen & Kale Clague into our D prospect group. We only expect to ramp up such focus to improve our NHL defence & now even more pertinently our goal tending.

We're after core & blue chip not rental players. All inquiries to the GM's inbox via PM please!

In what has become a fleury of excitment in Vancouver a third trade has been reached, we believe and in the final processes... we also believe this to be the last such trading we will see in June. Time to let the dust setlle and evaluate our build so far.

I can confirm this trade DID NOT include defenseman, Andy Greene.

Vancouver Canucks business: Ilya Nikulin is contracted to Dynamo Moscow for next season, has never played in the NHL and is under contract with my team for next year. Other leagues allow a contract to be destroyed penalty free if a player is signed to an overseas team ....if that is an option here I would like to annul the contract and remove it from the Canucks team sheet. If that is not an option here:

The Vancouver Canucks have unconditionally waived Ilya Nikulin for the purposes of a buyout and we would now like to excercise that buyout (unless we can anul the contract).

Thank you.

Nikulin was signed by Vancouver while he was still overseas, so the voiding of his contract is unavailable. If he had been signed by Vancouver while he was playing in North America, the voiding of his contract would be fine.

I will process this buyout shortly!

Unfortunately, it's the latter. There are two players, that I'm aware of in our league, that fall into this category. Nikulin being one, the other being Viktor Tikhonov. The exact reasoning can be explained by @Nail. However, because the contract was signed prior to Nikulin being brought into the NHL, the contract must be bought out, or left to hang.

This is why I was in such a hurry to shed Tikhonov's contract any way I could.

With expansion looking more and more like a reality, going to get very interesting about who I protect and who I leave open after next season.

Looking like the player I'll lose will be James Reimer :(

You acquired Theo Fleury?!?

That's outside the box thinking.

Probably still better than Andy Greene though. :bigblush:

Don't forget defenseman Nikita Zaitsev.

There's one more: Artemi Panarin.

I may be able to take that contract off your hands... ...all it takes is a sick mom and he could be back in Mother Russia!

Well, the nice thing about Panarin is that it's a two way contract. So, worst case scenario after next year and he books it back to Russia (highly unlikely), he gets put in the minors and there's no cap hit.

Little late, but would like to congratulate Bolts players Carl Hagelin and Brian Dumoulin on the Stanley Cup! Also congrats to Joonas Donskoi on a stellar playoff run! Watching all three play as well as they did gives me more hope for next season!
