Dion Phaneuf
Basically has until the start of the season to trade Elliott/Lundqvist from my understanding of the rule. Waiting until the trade deadline defeats the purpose of creating a new starters list every season.

Has more to do with games played throughout the season, rather than specific date to be moved.

If it looks like Elliott is a clear cut #1, then a trade may have to happen.

This is the likely situation which is why I initially selected trading a goaltender prior to October for my understanding of the rule. Elliott should be a clear cut #1 with the price paid to acquire him, obviously lots of variables (injury/team going for a 1A/1B tandem/etc.) that could change the unfortunate situation for D-Money. Will be an interesting story for CDCFL to follow for the summer.

Primal Optimist
I really appreciate the shoutouts, but you could also argue I should have taken him earlier, right? Still, look at him...6'3 180..with a sweet rise in quality at every year year over year and his playoff numbers are where its at. That and he is a fin, so underrated allready..speaking of which the real winner tonight is the Rangers own GM: the CDC's Sidney Crosby!, congrats on Patrick Laine. You won't regret the pick. There's a reason why Elliot was only a 1A/B goalie in STL
Monty
Trent Frederic selected by, nobody in our league. EDIT: oldnews took him at 99. Well done!

Thompson jumped up to 26 as well. So I got a couple late first round plckz. Not sure about Boston though. Did not like their 1st round picks last year. But then they stole Lauzon in the 2nd (I got him 146th here).
BM24
Willing to move the likes of Mats Zuccarello and/or Brandon Saad for a defensemen. Very interested in making a deal before Free Agency.
winterhawks
I am happy with how tonight went for Columbus. Jost went 10th overall, the same place we took him. Tufte went 25th and we took him at 26. My favourite selection was Cholowski who I am very high on. I almost took him at 26 but was able to trade up to 31 to snag him. Going 20th overall to Detroit is a great fit. They will let him develop properly and turn him into a strong top four dman.

Cholowski is a terrific prospect who will develop, as you said, properly by the Wings. Unfortunately, you won't see him the NHL until he's 26. D-Money
Pretty happy about Elliott going to the Flames. I seem to have a little more faith in the guy than most. Also think that team is going to be pretty good with a real goalie (and anybody but Hartley behind the bench). Although I'm perfectly happy to have the mother of all insurance policies for the start of next season, I'm open to offers. However, given upcoming extensions to Gaudreau, Stralman, Martinez, etc...to make room the one I'm more likely to move is Lundqvist. And...if you do need a goalie, just as a reminder, here are the UFAs available: Cam Ward Karri Ramo Ben Scrivens Jonathan Bernier Anders Lindback Curtis McElhinney Ray Emery Reto Berra Jonas Gustavsson Al Montoya Justin Peters Matt Hackett Anton Khudobin Nicklas Backstrom Jeremy Smith Jeff Zatkoff Peter Budaj Tyler Bunz Eric Hartzel Sami Aitokallio Johan Gustafsson Michael Houser
