Lil B From The Pack
John Tavares, arguably the greatest lacrosse athlete of all-time, will retire from the sport on Wednesday. Tavares is the uncle of New York Islanders All-Star John Tavares. The 46-year-old native of Toronto played his entire 24-year career with the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League. Tavares is the NLL's all-time leading scorer, netting 815 goals and 934 assists for 1749 points over 306 career regular season games. http://www.tsn.ca/lacrosse-legend-tavares-to-retire-wednesday-1.354388

Tortorella's Rant
Should've put this in the "Around the NHL" forum for the lulz.
Lil B From The Pack
Should've put this in the "Around the NHL" forum for the lulz. What are you trying to say? John Tavares played in the NHL in addition to being a Lacrosse player and high school math teacher? That doesn't make any sense.
Chris
The only reason I wasn't fooled by this is because I have John Tavares in SOB's NLL Sim League. XD
elvis15
I already heard about it on Twitter, but it really is misleading for people who see this through the main forum page considering it's a hockey forum overall, not a lacrosse one. No need to waste your energy with him...he ain't worth the trouble. Back to OP...you dirty rotten scoundrel...you got me. I thought it was Johnny T. of NYI prematurely retiring. Good one. elvis15
Thanks, elvis, that was the joke. Uh, duh. But if you want to create threads that are jokes instead of meaningfully discussing the career of one of the best Canadian athletes of the last two decades then I can't help you. this isn't a hockey forum... Uh, CDC? Canucks dot com? Sure, Other Sports is a sub-forum of that, but people who see this as a new thread on the main page would have no idea it's in Other Sports. Hence my point and why I specifically mentioned that fact.

Lil B From The Pack
elvis you are really going off topic here. I just want people to talk about the lacrosse legend but you're turning this into something else and I really don't appreciate it.
elvis15
Why would we? This isn't a lacrosse forum dude *sigh* Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 6h Canadian lacrosse legend John Tavares, who is the Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe of lacrosse all rolled up into one, is indeed retiring Wed. And so ends the remarkable career of a Mississauga high school math teacher who has been one of Canada's greatest athletes for 20+ years. Jesus - and I hardly follow lacrosse all that much - but I know enough to respect the career this guy has had.
